I grew up on an Indian Reservation and lived like this without water/plumbing and with a wood fired stove to keep us warm during winter. My mother still lives like this. Though it might seem hard it actually makes you more resilient. It’ll teach your family to appreciate the luxury of what you have, a heated home with running water. I gotta make sure I teach my kids this as well.

I love camping memories. So glad the girls get to start some; thanks Grampy. Every summer we went camping with our grandparents. I always wondered though, why my grandpa was always so grumpy when we did. As an adult...I get it - taking 5 kids camping isn't a walk in the park. Grateful they took us. Appreciate it now more as an adult than when I was young.

Judy and Benji, when I grew up in Shoreline, Wa I always went camping with my family! First a tent, then a trailer then eventually a motorhome. We went all over Washington and I loved it! Your experience here is far from the camping experience I knew. Having a bathroom and shower is definitely a luxury! But I’m glad you took this first step. Very proud of you leaving your makeup at home! I still camp every few years when I visit family still living in the area.

Judy please stop using the vicks inhaler. My doctor looked inside my nose and asked me if I snorted drugs, I have never used drugs. He asked me if I use a inhaler and I said yes, he told me it messed up my nose and I will have further problems in my life because of it. He told me I have sjogren's because of it and basically dried up my nose forever. I just want to give you a heads up so you will not go through the problems I am having.
