Eve, you do such an amazing job growing food for your family. Your gardens are better than most gardens I’ve seen in the lower 48. Sparrow is such a great helper around your homestead. She’s learning so much by helping you. She will be growing her own garden before you know it.

I love the education you give your children, it's so important that children are involved in the growing as well as harvesting and then eating them. You can do zucchini pickles or faux apple pie filling with the big ones I did some faux pineapple and its pretty good, I've done pickles with regular cukes.

Gaaa, I just think your young family is wonderful…absolutely PRECIOUS…heh, heh…When you and Eiven just got hitched and you and he were making the first green house, you and Eiven were so happy to be, “doing”, for each other…so beautiful and loving. Now, with sweet, Sparrow, you’re well into another phase, another phase of serious gardening and raising/teaching, a serious mom. I haven’t seen y’all in a long time; so, your maturity’s a big, and pleasant change. Thank you for the hard work of videos and sharing your lives. Hugs to all you guys. Thanks again…from an old vet, retired in the hills of east Tennessee.

The harder work is about to begin.Preserving, canning, drying, pickling, fermentation prepertation. Takes so much time and all the other chores have to take place as well.Baking bread and cooking breakfast and dinner interrupts these chores. We here in Oregon on our 12 acres just my Yupik wife and I one year good year put up 100 cases of garden veggies and fruit, made vinegar for preserving and pickling.Canned chicken, beef. Made 300 gallons of wine.WE are in our 80s and its getting to hard to do now.Getting fire wood for heat.My Dad had a saw mill at Moose Pass in the 1930s when war in 1941 the Japanese invaded Alaska and Dutch Harbor and the Islands happened the US Army confiscated my fathers equipment. He then went to Kodiak and ran a North west shovel digging rock to be crushed for the Army Airforce making run ways.WE left Alaska in 1966 and started a truck farm much easier to do than in Alaska.PS wife from the Bearing sea.We have family all over Alaska. We are transplanted natives living in Oregon.Enjoy you and the family Videos they make us home sick for Alaska.
