What impresses me the most is peoples ethics those values and morals taught to us from our parents. As they say modest is hottest stay classy as you have such a beautiful family and I wish you all the very best you can achieve in life. I really enjoyed your videos and the ethics you present while in the community that is very civil of you. With civility and dignity may you always obtain your goals with virtue.

I grew up in western Washington and I distinctly remember haying time! We had a small farm with just enough animals to support our family. We kept our hay loose and I remember my brothers pitching it into the wagon while I tramped it down to make room for more. Then they pitched it up into the hay loft while my twin and I pitched it toward the back of the loft so we could fill the whole loft. Hard work but so much fun with the team work of a big family!

I nave never seen hay collected like that before. I mean I've seen the big round bales but not wrapped. When my husband and I were first married, he used to make extra money bucking those rectangular bales onto a big flat bed truck. Takes a lot of muscle.

Do you guys have a tractor to move and use these round bales? I always prefer 60ish pound small square bales, which are so much easier to deal with and no tractor is needed. First time seeing your field hayed is exciting :)
@LavenderFirFarmstead4 жыл бұрын
Our neighbor helps with that too when we need them moved. It's still too wet here to get dry hay, so everthing we just harvested gets made into haylage. We will be doing dry hay in the 60 pound square bales on our second cutting. Oh man its sooooo exciting! -Jordan

Eek,not sure how eco friendly that wrap is! Good neighbouring though.Just read that you won't be wrapping in future. I'm not farm savy,o should just trust you,o can see that you are very creative and transforming the farm beautifully,the children are absolutely living it,great drone footage.

Hi there, I left a comment a year ago about how personal this farm is in my life and why. I was Pat's caregiver, one of three. The first to come in to care for her. I was there 3 years and Cynthia and Martha were there the last two years. Sadly Martha was killed in a car accident not long after Pat passed away on Christmas. I would like to come and visit the farm and meet you all some time before Summer ends? I use to bring my dog to the farm and he had the run of it. Living in town I was happy he could do this. So could I bring him too?
@LavenderFirFarmstead4 жыл бұрын
Hi Eileen, We aren't quite ready for visitors just yet, but will keep you posted! I am very sorry to hear about Martha.

My grandpa's hay was yellow when cut. How does it not mold when cut green? I lived not far from your old house in the OHS area. One of my classmates ( '83) was named Blaylock, but I don't remember his first name. Maybe he is your relative?
@LavenderFirFarmstead4 жыл бұрын
This is actually haylage, it ferments for two weeks inside the wrapping. We plan to do "dry" hay on our second cutting. No relation to those Blaylocks, all our family comes from southern California.
