My husband and I recently purchased HGVC through a presentation we went back in March. At first we had a little buyers remorse yet more we study, more we love it!! Discovering your channel and Timeshare Traveler channel were a big game changer for us! We would like to thank you both. It turned out we had a great deal, much better than buying from resale market. We got a lot of Hilton honor points and HGVC Bonus points. We are looking forward to travel around the world and with in the US! As a matter of fact, we have two upcoming travel plans using HGVC for this holiday season.

We have stayed at the same HGV Las Vegas Resort twice now and love this resort. We would stay there again if we ever go back to Las Vegas for a week (we live in NJ). We own a Maui timeshare (bi-annual) that cost us $8000 for a 1 BR back in 1999 and it's deeded property -- so basically, we own land in Hawaii. We also bought a 2nd timeshare (1 BR, 1 1/2 BA annual) in Fort Lauderdale in 2019. We haven't stayed at our FL timeshare since purchasing it; we exchange for others, usually the Wyndham Palm-Aire or Wyndham Sea Gardens. We sadly, went to a Wyndham Sales presentation on our last visit and promised to NEVER attend one again (we're booked again at Palm-Aire in Dec. 2022). Talk about high pressure. Good thing we knew ahead of time that we won't buy again; our "prize" was a $200 Visa gift card.

I have been an owner for 13 years and don't regret it. We wouldn't have been able to afford the hotels we've stayed at otherwise. We convert our points to Hilton Honors point a if we don't plan on staying at any club. We reached our goal, so we put ourselves on a "no call" list. Our best stays are at the club but locations aren't always convenient, so use the points for a hotel. We get more stays out of our points.

I took a Hilton Honors offer in December, and were HGVC owners by the time of the trip in February. Both of our owner's update meetings were very professional, no high pressure at all. I bought 5440 points off Ebay for $100, allegedly retailing at $20K +/-. $9,000 for 2,560 biannual points seems really steep.

Loved the video , my fiancé and I are still debating on canceling the trip or going thru with it . . We are suppose to get a 4day 3 night stay in smoking mountains for $129 . The guy told us all we’d have to do is sit thru the tour/presentation and we’d receive a $100 gift card at the end and we didn’t have to make any commitment to buying the timeshare .. I just want to be sure it’s not a scam .. we are bringing our 3yr old and our dog along for the vacation so id like to be sure everything is as he told me .. because we are take a 5-6 hr drive for this lol. Im not against buying a share but im not sold on it either .. i paid the guy over the phone and then received an email that said i still had to book the stay . That me paying was jus to hold my spot . Are there any surprise fees? Also when i messaged him asking the name of the hotel to gps exactly how long of a drive he said he’s had to check with the office which seemed a little Sketchy to me . .

Here is a link to another video explaining those promo deals; kzbin.info/www/bejne/kGazc3Z_eJhnfq8 It isn't a scam, but it is intended to get you to a sales presentation to pressure you in to buying a timeshare. If you are good at saying no, then you should be fine. There is zero obligation to buy anything. However, if you have a tough time saying no, don't want to be rude or hurt the sales person's feelings, then it might not be the best idea. Timeshare salespeople are good at what they do and are quite convincing. Just tell them upfront you are there because of the cheap vacation. Chances are the hotel they will put you in is not very nice compared to the resort they are trying to sell you. That may be why he wasn't sure and had to check. There may be some fees in addition to what you paid, you may have to pay more if you want to travel during higher season. If you purchased, you should have received an email or some other communication with all the details, much of which is in fine print. Read all the fine print. Thanks for watching!

Yeah, Pollo Towers is a Diamond Resorts property, they are high pressure. I don't know exactly when you purchased, but if you are still within the seven day rescission period, you should read through your contract and consider cancelling your purchase. You might be able to get the equivalent of what you bought resale vor far less than what Hilton Grand Vacations charges. We don't own HGVC so I don't have a lot of experience with it, so I suggest you check out the HGVC forum on TUG; tugbbs.com/forums/forums/hilton-grand-vacations-club-hgvc.52/

@@DestinationTimeshare: thanks for the forum link; pretty interesting. im not too sure about pollo towers. never been to or heard of it. i think im gonna jusy hold on to my purchase. i did try to look for my exact purchase on the resale and could not find it. anyhow, its not too much of a big deal. were not paying all too much for it, and the maint fees is every other year so gives us a lot of time to pay that up. i mostly got it for getting deals in the open season for pennies on the dollar using cash (the "term" they used in place of using your allotted points), which is usually how i fund my vacations. THEN use our points on something new and adventurous. all in all it was an alright purchase. we do quite of bit of staycations since we live in hawaii but the hilton timeshare ownership kinda forces us to go out and see new things as a family that we wouldnt have done in the first place, while in the meanwhile giving us an absolute killer deal for anything spontaneous.

My personal opinion of HGVC system is fine. It is good system, but I need to consider their expensive fees. If I need to split the points, I need to pay few hundred dollars fee in total. We just signed up fpr the HGV in Orlando. All in it was $167. I know we will have to listen to the two hour pitch and that's fine but my question is I when the pitch is over and I don't buy, how much of a pain in the butt is it going to be to just leave. I understand from the video that we have to "check out" first but after that I assume they just cut their losses and move on to the next prospect.
@DestinationTimeshare Жыл бұрын
It isn’t that hard at all. The people checking you out aren’t trying to sell you. They just want to know what “gift” you want and if you took a $200 credit certificate they may try to convince you the Hilton Honors points are better (they aren’t really). The only wait you may have at checkout is if there is a small line of people waiting, but you are no longer with the sales person at that point.

Did you buy a second discounted trip to a different destination, I think you mentioned it, something called vip presentation at the very end? And was it worth it, all of it. They convinced me into buying a 300 dollars trip to Orlando 5 days 4 nights or any other destination but would be 4 days 3 nights instead. Other than going to the presentation, do they leave you alone to enjoy your vacation afterwards?
@DestinationTimeshare7 ай бұрын
We did not buy the VIP package at the end. Those are a certain number of one time use points to go somewhere with the promise you will sit through another presentation. Other than the tour, the ydidn't bother us during the trip. Keep in mind that with a three night package, you really only have two full days at the resort and one of those will be partially consumed by the presentation. They may not schedule you for an ideal time. Ours was at 2pm, so it does mess up a day. I believe in Orlando they do all the tours at Parc Soleil, so you may also have to drive there or get a shuttle to it which takes more time from the day. We've booked another one of these and this time we hope to stay at HGVC at Seaworld.

We did a presentation yesterday and actually decided to purchase but after watching this I feel like we paid too much for the points we received. I love the idea of a Hilton Timeshare because we always stay at Hilton hotels anyways but not sure if we made the best decision. After reviewing online it looks like we can purchase someone’s timeshare for a lot cheaper than what we paid. What is your advise for purchasing a resale? Things to look for etc?
@DestinationTimeshare Жыл бұрын
Hilton Grand Vacations Club is a great program to buy in to via resale. For the most part you don't lose any benefits when you buy resale except that you won't get higher status in Hilton Honors. You will save a lot of money buying resale. You really need to watch for the maintenance fee cost per point as they cost per point can vary widely and the ongoing fees will more than make up for a higher resale purchase price up front. So look for Platinum season weeks. I know people tend to talk about the properties in Las Vegas as good options as the fees are relatively low. With Hilton you don't need to travel to where you own as you can use the points anywhere. Here is a video on how to rescind your contract; kzbin.info/www/bejne/mH6rn4irhrJ1h5I
@DestinationTimeshare Жыл бұрын
Also watch out for Hilton Vacation Club. You don't want to buy these as they are the legacy Diamond Resorts. You can mainly find them for free online resale, but they won't get you into the fantastic Hilton Grand Vacations Club resorts.

Hey Jeremy, I just purchased the Las Vegas getaway package and have to attend the timeshare presentation. Since I have no intention of buying a timeshare do you think it would be a good idea to just be cut and dry by telling them I just sat through their spiel in order to get a discounted price to stay there? lol I just hope they get the message right off the bat and don't hound me to buy something I have zero intention of buying.
@DestinationTimeshare Жыл бұрын
This is certainly a tactic you can use. But realize they will still try to work you and sell you on their program. They know everyone coming through the sales door is there for the free gifts or cheap trip. Very few people go to a timeshare sale presentation with the plan to buy a timeshare. So still expect them to try and sell you even if you say you don't intend to buy. Thanks for watching!

Of course Covid played some part in that, but EVERY TIME we look it says it’s either unavailable or sold out. No clue how to use it and getting a ton of calls about renting and/or selling it. Any advice on how to maximize this purchase?
@DestinationTimeshare2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't think that booking into Tuscany Village would be very hard unless you are looking to book peak holiday or travel times like Christmas/New Year and Spring Break. There are a lot of Hilton properties in Orlando and that should spread out demand. If you own at Tuscany Village you really need to be reserving 12 months in advance or at least inside the 12-9 month home resort priority booking window. At 9 months, it opens up for all other HGVC owners to reserve. If you don't own Tuscany Village, then you should be trying to reserve exactly 9 months in advance of when you want to travel. One big word of advice, ignore those calls about renting or selling, they are all scams looking to separate you from your money. They promise lots of things but require an upfront fee and then never deliver. Thanks for watching!
@kcollins21302 жыл бұрын
Hi Anthony (& Jeremy) - we bought into Tuscany even earlier - and have never stayed there. There is not a lot of inventory (we bought a 3 bedroom, 1 week platinum pkg) - very few 3 br units there. Have had better luck booking at SeaWorld down the street. Caviat - if it's not your "home week/resort" you get pushed into that 9 month window making it even harder to book. Possible learning is to book at the local property with biggest inventory - SeaWorld/Parc Soleil. The alternate way of looking at this is to buy where points & maintenance fees are cheapest. Either way, caviat emptor. Maybe Jeremy has more to say on this...
@Bjordan2562 жыл бұрын
What are your thoughts on buying a resale for little of nothing? The maintenance fees are less than I spend on travel annually. I’m most attracted to doing that with Hilton Vacations. Thoughts anyone? (The one I have my eye on is Hilton Vacations. 21,000 points, platinum week, gold crown raising, Las Vegas Strip, 2 bedroom, annual maintenance is at $900/yr for $2,000 purchase price)
@DestinationTimeshare2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Buying resale is usually a great option and certainly much cheaper than buying direct. You always want to be mindful of the maintenance fee per point. The lower you can get that, the better you are. Also, watch out for "Hilton Vacation Club", these are really just rebranded Diamond Resorts International properties and really should sell for close to $0. You want to buy a true Hilton Grand Vacations property if you want to stay at Hilton Grand Vacations resorts.

I really don’t want to buy a timeshare. I just wanted to go for the great deal so thank you for the information.

If it is paid in full, selling or getting rid of it shouldn't be a problem. Check Redwee.com. Just realize that you will not get anywhere close to what you paid for it if you bought from the developer.

They are a way to save on vacation accommodation vs booking cash rates through most booking sites.

Are you people for real? Advertizing the timeshare garbage as if it was really a gread deal instead of a scam with endless sales presentations every time you go to a resort, lifetime maintenance fees, absolutely no resale value, etc.

Clearly you have zero experience with timeshare. Knowing what to buy and buying the right product, timeshare can save you considerable money on travel accommodation. Where else can you stay a week in a two bedroom resort for less than $500. NOT $500 a night, $500 for all 7 nights!

$500 package is just a teaser to get you in the door, from what I know about TS is that they get you with monthly maintenance fee that keep rising each year, at the end, you end up paying 4x the normal price once you buy into it. Best way is to buy a week from current TS owners that trying to get rid of it or too busy to use their TS.

@@johndemp4483 Yes, the package we bought is to get you in front of a salesperson who will try to sell you a timeshare for tens of thousands of dollars. As you say, the best way to go about it is to buy resale from someone who wants out. Usually for pennies on the dollar. Thanks for watching!
