See the problem with skate shoes is they make them, then overprice them and then wonder why their pro models don’t sell well. Nobody is spending $130 on shoes intended to destroy within a month to three months of skating them. This is the problem with skate shoes brands, they’d sell more if they made smart decisions in how much they charge,

2 things. Being a size 12 myself, anything with a sock lining/no tounge opening is nearly impossible to get my foot into without feeling like im going to rip the shoe in half. I get that most skaters top out at 10 1/2 so maybe this isnt a problem for most. Two. $130 is to much money for vans. Plain and simple, the only pair of vans that are worth their weight are half cabs. Everything else lacks comfort and durability. Vans owns classic surf and skate style. This is the opposite.

I commend Vans for continuing to innovate but cmon they got it right with the half cab. I could say the same for the nike dunk. Theres just so many shoes that sure might look great, skate ok but they can be really bad for your feet and offer no protection, and thats exactly what alot of these minimalistic designs do.

Aves are the worst shoes I owned. They had little to no grip on the board, so i used them as chillers for walking and the mesh desintegraded to the sole in a year from dog and office walks

For sure, most companies these days in sports apparel think only one foot shape exists these days. NB used to be good with wide foot sizes but I don't think thay ever trickled down to their skate line.

@@ponmlk Such a shame. Funny enough, only Vans makes a skateable wide shoe in the industry. They make their classic models available in wide sizes but unfortunately, the insole is firmly glued in and hurts for skating. You just can't win if you have a wide or flat foot. Especially me with my flat feet, I need a shoe built with a straight last (mold of the foot) rather than a curved last like every single skate shoe ever is built with. You can find straight lasted running shoes (i.e the Brooks Dyad) and you can see from the bottom tread the midfoot area is really wide and the toebox is almost symetrical. No such skate shoe silhouette exists. I use Accel OGs and the midfoot area is the biggest of any skate shoe i've tried but it still hurts my arch after skating for a while because my midfoot is spilling out the sole.
