Only half way through this video but had to tell you, I’m so excited you made it to Maine! I was born here and have no plans of ever living anywhere else. I’m just a few miles north of Portland. A little fun piece of trivia for you … Maine is the only state that borders only one other state. When asked “what State” most people have a very difficult time getting the correct answer. Back to finish this video and your Portland one. Thanks, I enjoy all your cruise and van travel content. 😊

I'm from Maine and find it so funny how we all have our different ways of eating it! In my house my husband doesn't like it. Tries it every year, still doesn't like it. My preference is cooled lobster tail dipped in hot butter. No seasonings in either. My mother only goes for the claws which works out perfect! Same deal though, cold lobster dipped in hot butter. My father takes all the lobster and mixes into melted butter and eats it that way. We are lucky enough to have friends that own a boat yard and traps so we get it EXTREMELY fresh, straight from the ocean! Maine lobster is like no other. I went to a restaurant where I got a tail and found out the hard way it wasn't Maine lobster. I did not like it at all! This is the first video I have watched from you guys, but I really hope you made it to more in Maine because Kennebunkport isn't even that far in!

Did you get to see summer home of the Bush family. George H. W. Bush loved his boat. Coming in from a day of fishing at the entrance into the river we met the Coast Guard. As we made our way back we passed the marina where his boat was getting ready for him to go out. Walkers Point is the name of the property.

When you pull out the tail meat you need to separate the small thin strip to remove a line of the intestines that runs the length of the tail. My family won 25 lobsters one year and we had to cook them and clean them all. But grew up in New England so you get to know how to clean a lobster. So glad you go to enjoy the area.

There isn't any better seafood than from the coast of Maine, hands down! Just a tip for your next lobstah experience, don't wish for a bigger one, get the twin "chicken" (a pound or under) lobstah's. You get 2, and the meat is not going to be tough at all. It's a little more work, but bigger lobsters have chewy tail meat. Also, did you guys go out to Walker Point to see the Bush Compound? Maine is so cool, isn't it? Can't wait for the next video!!
