Taking Alastair back to places which hold many memories for me was extremely surreal. Never in a million years would I have even thought I'd be taking someone back to see my roots. Here's to our first Thanksgiving y'all. I appreciate the viewership so much, and hope all y'all have something to be thankful for, or will create something to be thankful for.

Adventures of Zach and B - viewing your vlog brought back strong memories from many years past when my boyfriend took me to Mexico City to meet his family. He and his dad shared neighborhoods they lived in, learned in, played in and prayed in. We went to the great Aztec city ruins at Tenochtitlan and climbed the Sun Pyramid. He and his dad were so proud to share their Mexican story with me. I still vividly remember my feelings from the warm welcome to their family. The "first times" are so special in real time and will become treasured touch points as your love and relationship grows over time. My boyfriend and I hope you will find the same as you grow together and marry. We found it 36 years ago and have never let go through all the good times and rough patches. We look forward to reaffirming our life together with our wedding next year. Hope the same for you and Alastair!

I'm a parent of a gay daughter. She was in her 20's before she came out (this past year). My wife and I have no problem with it. After all, my daughter is a genuinely good person, and to know she is happy is all I ever need to know. She had gone to school, then worked, out of state for a few years. So, we had no indication of her lifestyle. I just know that in H.S. she did all the normal things - the prom thing; she always had things to do with large groups of friends; and she had dates - with intelligent and so-called All-American guys. She was such a dedicated student, she got a free-ride scholarship to a private university. So when she phoned us one evening out of the blue, she spoke to my wife and I separately. I was second, to speak to her. I had not gotten a clue as to what her mother's reaction had been, as we were in separate parts of the house. I didn't know the topic, but she got straight to the point for me. I have to admit, I'd never rehearsed a speech for such a scenario, as I/we never really saw this coming. But I maintained my composure, and everything I said was from the heart. I had a million thoughts coming at me at once, such as : How long has SHE known? Had she suffered? Is she really SURE she's gay? How's this going to impact her life, personally and professionally? What will the extended family say? And then my mind went to selfish areas..."I guess this means she'll never give us grandkids." Honestly, each of those points raced through my mind in just the first 10 seconds after her pronouncement. So, unable to gauge the humanity of MY response, I came to KZbin and listened to the coming out stories. The ones where I could hear the parents' responses were the most enlightening. I have since decided I did the best I knew to do at the time, and in this, albeit unscientific comparison - I have some proof I was OK. I spoke to love and happiness, our blessings of good health, and the future. Seeking a way to validate my reaction's reasonableness is how I happened upon this remarkable young man's videos. I binge-watched, and not even in order (I don't know the ins-and-outs of KZbin). I'm impressed by his heart and passions. He 's the kind of person who wants the best for everybody. So much so that he had a calling to make videos to help out a human face to the issue. I think he's extremely courageous, even in this day and age. He's proof that a gay man is most certainly a REAL man, and many straight guys aren't - the kind who don't support their kids, beat their spouse, et al. Our values in this country had to change - herald good people, don't isolate them because of who they are based on race, religion, gender, age, weight, wealth or lack thereof, education level, or sexual orientation. I treat likewise those who treat me civil. I don't pander to bullies, cut throats or assholes in general. I make it my mission to get silent joy out of not giving mean people my attn. But, I digress...my point being that, I like these guys, for one because they aren't hypocrites. They respect others. I enjoy the videos, I've laughed and I've gotten misty-eyed. Zach makes me laugh, I applaud his video production values and the way he's sewn this together for the edification of others. I think he will make a fine writer. I wish them all the success in the world.

Beautiful :) I was in a LTR until recently, I lived with someone who's parents did not accept the relationship. I was patient for a long time and always wished I could at least meet his mother. I ended up spending thanksgiving and Christmas alone because I wasn't allowed in their home. I felt isolated and finally came home NYE. This gave me hope. Thank you guys for being real and spreading positivity.

I've enjoyed watching your videos. You two are wholesome and mature beyond your years. Thank you for sharing. You have no idea how much listening to you helps! !!! My partner and I, of 18 years, are presently separated by 700 miles, not because of relationship problems. We're still tight! It's been 5 years... we talk multiple times a day. He is my rock. He's at home in Covington Ky where his extensive extended family are with all kinds of support. I'm in Hattiesburg Mississippi taking care of my immediate family, two have passed and now taking care of mom. She has dementia. Each day's a challenge. You have talked about writing. I've been encouraged to write about my life experiences. Zach, with your mature depth of insight all that you discuss in your videos are fertile topics to expound on in writing. Maybe voice activated writing? I'm certain there's a program that does that. Ask someone for direction to help with getting started and never give up!!! God bless both of you. He loves you and so do I.... in a healthy way. Stay strong!

I'm on my way back from my visit to Dallas to see my very very dear friends Drew and Bill who are getting married on Christmas Eve this year. I'm not gonna be able to make their wedding which really hurts but I wanted to be there for Thanksgiving as a kind of a pre-wedding celebration, a time for us to reconnect, since I hadn't seen them in a few years and a chance also to be thankful for the friendship that we have had. Combined we have 37 years of friendship 21 with Drew and 16 with Bill. I wasn't expecting this video on my drive from Atlanta back to Augusta but I'm so grateful that I watch this because you put so much of this trip into perspective for me. Thank you Zach thank you Alastair you guys are wonderful!

Morning Zach. Small world!!!!! No idea you had ties to the same area where I grew up. Been to park 100s of times. Went to swimming lessons in that park back when they still had the "high" dive. Where Alastair and you say by river we use to have tractor pulls there. Kayaked and fished down that river with buddies back in high school. Went to the local festival every year, and few years took my antique tractors for prade. Funny thing is I was there during Thanksgiving and had lunch in town! I grew up out in the country but still lot of ties. So glad you found a great partner to share childhood memories. Not everyone understands county boys.
