It's normal to get chills the first time (or everytime) you see this performance! It's simply one of the best live music performances ever captured on video. Here are a few lesser known details that are sure to deepen your admiration. You mentioned that they looked young at this show. Yes, Sumetal had just turned 17 like 20 days before this show. Yuimetal and Moametal were 15. You also mentioned how they were singing while dancing. Yes, they were; and, this was the final song of a 16 song 90+ minute show. What will truly blow you mind... This was only the 3rd time this song was ever performed live! The first 2 times had a COMBINED attendance of only 8,000. The first of those shows was in London 2 months prior (5000 max attendance), the second was in a 3,000 person venue in Tokyo. No official recordings were readily available. The album that featured this song was over 1 year from release. The only official way to get a recording of this song was via a digital download bonus track from a special limited edition live album that dropped 3 days before this show. Keep in mind, this was all during Nov 2014-Jan 2015. So, bootlegged live streams or KZbin videos weren't anywhere near as prevalent as they are today. Yet, somehow, a trio of mid teenage girls could get a crowd of 20,000+ (SSA has a max capacity of 36,500. Their stage setup restricted and a bit of floor space though) to do anything they asked, wall of death, circle pit, acapella sing along, etc with basically no verbal instruction. The crowd control and participation was so good you might think they had been performing this song live for years, but, in fact, it was the first time the fact majority of that crowd had heard or seen it performed. Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。The crowd involvement (mosh pit, call & response, chant etc.) occurs wherever they go on this planet. American fans did it very well in every show in BM's 2019 US tour (20 gigs). I am sure they will do it again in coming North American tour with DETHKLOK starting on August 30 through October 12 (30 gigs). In your video, Su shouted some words at 08:22 meaning "Bring them on!". Fans analyzed that the provocative shout was thrown at people who had been ignoring, underrating, mocking, hating and even trying to discredit BABYMETAL. That shout may have been necessary in 2015 but not any longer. She has shouted it occasionally since then and when she does, it is with her friendly smile and voice that I love 😄

Now with another hit they don't wanna leave behind in almost any of their setlist, like recently at Sabaton's Europe Tour and later at Asian and Australian Tour as well recently at Summer Sonic Festival in Osaka closing the show right after Evanescence, fun fact they got a picture together finally. _Road Of Resistance_ is a fantastic power/speed metal song, is one of their most epic anthem and the album version got the guitar arrangements made by Sam Totman and Herman Li from DragonForce, that's why some got "Through The Fire and Flames" vibes, and is all about facing your own path without looking back. The wall of death is nuts just like you noticed, is also called "mosh'sh pit", different from usual mosh pit because this one is safe to participate if you fall everyone will stop until you get up and get ready to keep going with the fun ride. This was part of the Trilogy Of 2015 series of concerts, live at New Year Fox Festival - Saitama Super Arena, is the last song of the encore they performed and finishing the show. By this time their fame was already high due to viral success on YT of Gimme Chocolate! MV, people from all over the world attended this live concert in Japan, and 20K souls witnessed this epic moment. With only 15 and 17 years old this moment will be forever remember when they performing this song to reminds them all the support they got from their fans no matter where they go, either a small or big stages. The Kami Band here are magnificent set of elite musicians who were send to help the girls with the metal sound, they rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarists), all of them are males. BM fans love some members of this band but none of them are official members of this group not even permanent, they only play live, so when you heard album tracks remember they aren't playing there. In this case they are: - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording certain songs. - Takayoshi Ohmura, god of guitar, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil (another beloved Kami Band guitarist who sadly past away) and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar or golden in other moments. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. - Hideki Aoyama, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japanese music scene. At the end of their shows they always said "We are BabyMetal!" with the crowd, to making them sure that they're part of this show and project too, is a line borrowed to X-Japan saying it at live concerts too. If you like this type of metal genre then you're gonna love another previous song from first album called: - *"Ijime Dame Zettai"* live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 and witness a precious and epic moment on their career. You can find that clip in the official channel but just be careful coz sometimes is getting blocked issues. Not only did they make some space, SHE CALLED FOR A WALL OF DEATH with a gesture and they responded! Also it may sound like soft vocals but su is basically belting almost the entire time, she just has enough breath support, stamina, and stability to allow v little vibrato to come in. Even with her register being so high, its still hard to sing over the instrumentation - you need really powerful vocals even if they sound v young and light

Great reaction, thanks! The footage of this live video is from the concert "New Year Fox Festival", held on January 10th, 2015 at Saitama Super Arena (SSA) with a sold out crowd of 20.000+ people. It was the final encore of the show. Just imagine 90+ minutes of concert entirely performed with this level of energy. It's just epic. For this video, they decided to keep the actual live audio (which is great!), just cutting short the majority of the "We are?? BABYMETAL" extensive outro. About the song itself, Herman Li and Sam Totman from Dragonforce collaborated with BABYMETAL, writing guitar arrangements and also playing on the studio recording. They commented they arranged it even faster than their own songs, expecting they would never perform it live. They were wrong expecting that, obviously. 😁 SU-METAL still remembers this performance and specially the part they walked across the bridge with the crowd singing along as one of her favorite moments on stage. She also made this song her personal anthem. And you can tell she was on fire, specially during the second half of the song, by her expressions. Not to mention the moment she verbalized it by shouting: "Kakatte koi yaa!" ("Bring it on!"). See you... next time! 🤘🦊

Babymetal is all about contrasts and making it work to sheer will power, talent and hard work. The song is about going your own path, which also applies directly to Babymetal, they didn't do J-Pop, they went with metal and they ended up doing their own version of metal as well... completely unique at the time. Others tried and mostly failed to get any success.

The song was released worldwide as a digital single on February 1, 2015 by Toy's Factory, serving as the lead single off the international re-release of the album Babymetal, as well the opening track from Metal Resistance. Great reaction. It is the fact BABYMETAL don't follow all the traditions and formats that virtually every other metal band does that makes them special ... then you add really well written, crafted songs, amazing instrumentals from the Kami Band and what makes them really stand out are Su-metal's amazing vocals and the crowd interaction led by Moa and Yui (Moa and Momoko now of course) with their choreo. They are original, innovative and unique, nobody can do what they do (some have tried, none have come close yet). This was January 2015. Just turned 17 Su-metal only needed to spread her arms, not a word and the wall of death opened up. Yui and Moa were still only 15 ... thaty was over 20,000 people completely under their control - and they had been keeping that same energy up throughout the whole of the 90 minute concert, no drop in quality right from the first second of the first song.

@@smashstuff86 I don't know most of it - they appeared in the January and April shows performing a song at each show with BABYMETAL (supposedly as a version of BABYMETAL from an alternate reality - so that was all part of the lore relating to The Other One's concept) and now it seems they are a new group in their own right. They opened the stage at Summer Sonic where BABYMETAL headlined later the same day and I understand they played their first solo show a couple of days ago. Where BABYMETAL were always metal with pop aesthetics Metalverse so far seem to be more pop with metal elements, but it is early days. You know pretty much as much as I do now.
