@@Non-Existent999 it’s on my bucket list to go to carnival some day
@trinidadnow25 күн бұрын
@@kamkarter8821the carnival season is safe, the police keeps the country safe for those 3 days only so it is safe. It is also made easier to maintain law and order in the Capital since most locals do not participate in Carnival activities and actually avoid it. The festival is now scanty and pales in comparison to the days when a band was 50,000 members to just 2000 or 3000 today. The reason is CRIME. If you live in Trinidad the “carnival alternative “ is where locals spend their money. Flights are overbooked with locals leaving the country for carnival. I have participated in Carnival for over 40 years and I have worked in the industry and I have seen the dwindling support and participation first hand. So the wrap roti is call dalparie and the unwrapped is called parrata (buss up shot) btw pronunciation is a lil off, don't say rot-ee say ro-tee, so it's ro, sounds like "no" pronouncing 'o' , put it together you get ro-ti, glad you guys are here, been watching you over 3 years now, welcome and enjoy, be sure to check out D Avenue, or and our number 1 music 🎶 is Soca, where the home of that genre

It seems like you haven't been paying attention to the news and the ridiculous amount of home invasions and recent extortions. And don't come with the "don't bad mouth the country" BS! I am tired of this complacency and delusion. This could be the best country in the Caribbean but we refuse to acknowledge the clear faults. We have educated people, great beaches and good food. We have good music. We have good manufacturing experience. We can be a tourism and industry hot spot. Instead, people are leaving as soon as they can. And that was before the relatively recent spike in home invasions and extortions.

They probably didn't give you trinidadian pepper sauce to make your Roti Spicy hot because they must have thought you all couldn't handle the heat. But you need to have it with pepper sauce or kuchela. Amchar/Anchar as well. Also, your Bake and shark was missing all the different sauces to go with it. Those condiments elevate the flavour tremendously. You need to tour Trinidad with a local who will take you to the best places, especially for food.
