Former owner of a Westsail 32. You might want to figure out how much water that dink can hold and figure out how much weight that is. It is mounted high up and forward of the beam, so not a lot of stability there. Open ocean sailing is very un forgiving. You can easily take a wave and fill that up, making your boat roll over on it's side just as another wave comes along....... Look around and see most smaller sailboats have the dink up side down. There is a really good reason for that. You just don't know when one of "those monster waves" will come along. You just do not have a second chance like traveling in a van. Have fun out there.

Such a big accomplishment getting out in the ocean! Great work overcoming seasickness and making it through 😀Those big fishing boats sure do like to make an already tough inlet much tougher. Awesome job team! Can't wait for the next one!

So much enjoy seeing your growth and progress! Keep up the good work! That dude in the boat on the way out of the inlet was kind of a “tool!”. You deserved a little “treat” time in town!

Haha yeah we felt the same way! I don't know why he had to drive by like that. And the ice cream treat we got in town was thanks to you! So glad you're enjoying

We have a gybe preventer and it helps with the boom bouncing around like that in light wind but not the main still trying to figure it out

@@Bretandmarisa Also try out to use the traveller. It helps to shape the main, too. Preventer is definitely needed when reaching and to prevent a chinese gybe.

You might love with saint augustine. There's a boat community that you will probably love. Make sure you get good video of them shooting the cannons At the fort. Make sure to get the coupon book so you can Save money on the tourist trap Stuff. Hell I feel Yeah, you might get jobs and hang out there a while.

Look up Preventer , that's what ya need on your boom...it's name describes what it's function is , usually just a line tied back to a cleat on your gunnel.
