Many other eras of BTS had different hair/clothes/etc that mimic what you're considering their more "modern" style. This comeback they all specifically dyed their hair more natural colors because of the concept of this album they were promoting, which was more raw and vulnerable. They oftentimes match styling to the project they're working on. They've been a group for 11 years, and the few songs you've seen have only scratched the surface of what they've done in that time. They're so big that they even are considered as contributing to the Korean governments' economic earnings because they've increased tourism and music sales in South Korea.

Group dynamics were already established but they're very versatile like their debut positions don't even matter as much now each member pretty much dabbled into everything. This video was my first introduction to BTS last January and i fell in love with the song immediately. I am 52 with zero background with boy bands, mainstream pop, rap, r&b, hip hop, etc. My background is with metal, alternative, and indie and this song to me seems to fit more alternative than boy band. Of course i didn't ever listen to 1D so maybe if i did i would see it. Maybe we relate music to what we are familiar with. That said, this song and video definitely was the reason i went down the rabbit hole to that point that they are my favorite band now.

We love their whole journey to be honest from 2013 when they were kids who loved rapping and singing and had to struggle to make themsleves visible given they came from a tiny company on the verge of bankruptcy to now when they singlehandedly with their CEO, Bang PD, managed to build their company to be the biggest music corporation of South Korea, and have managed to find and hone their individual artistic strengths while still remainjng the strongest group in the world. All their eras have different meaning for us since all of those, including Butter and Dynamite are their stories as much as they are pop hits. Given the way they have branched out in different directions during their solo era and the level of artistry in their individual music, especially the rapline's who have the major role in terms of song writing and producing in the group and who decide the musical direction fo the group for thebmost part if not always, we don't know what magic they will create in 2025 after they get back together. One thing we do know is what Namjoon told in a talk with Suga, that it's not going to be like their previous eras and they have to do something new and different, a very BTS thing if you may ask. Cannot wait to experinece BTS' greatness in 2025! 😊💜

TBH just by watching BTS mvs, one will ( especially the new ones) will never get the real concept or the theory or the message they want to convey.... "FAKE LOVE" is not abt getting hurt by someone u loved... it's about betraying loving yourself....tbh u guys have to dig deep into the BU(bts universe) storyline that is the whole HYYH (the most beautiful moment in life) storyline... because the the whole bts discography is based on the HYYH storyline... HYYH has 2 books, a whole kdrama, and 2 webtoons and numerous numbers of mvs and individual member concept.... u won't understand any of the mvs unless u get to know abt HYYH storyline😅

love your reactions and insights/opinions on things first of all!! fake love is a song that means a lot to me especially when you take its meaning and compare it with your own experiences (we all have those). i do feel sorry for when you have to put a "don't come for me" etc. in front of a lot of your comments like please just express what you feel most of us are normal and just don't comment a lot 😭 but i also completely get it and ngl fandoms especially on yt reactions get a lil crazy sometimes and overdramatize a lot of things that shouldn't be issues. anyhow i hope that doesn't take away from enjoying the content you're watching for you guys in the long run because that's how reactors get generic and frankly speaking uninteresting imo so i always appreciate just honest thoughts or comparisons cause that's just a normal thing after all...

BTS is responsible for the majority of kpop trends on social media. They either pioneered or popularized them. Including album storylines (which it seems everyone is doing now) and direct contact with fans. As for music and looks -- just when you think you know what BTS is...they show you something completely different. But it's always authentically them.

BTS 's have some popie songs but most of their work since the begining deals with serious issues like mental health ,loving your self, social inequality, youth issues etc ! Their songs lyrics and mv's are full of symbolism and references from literature , psychology , sculpture painting etc! So when you watch an mv or listen a BTS song there are always multiple layers! I would recommend to continue your journey with FIRE or On Kinetic manifesto and slowly pass to Blood Sweat and Tears, Black Swan , Spring day ! Also BTS are great live ! I think all bts songs are a bop, like they never miss but it's just something about the older songs (2013-2020). I think although now ofcourse they release amazing music but the mvs in the past are more storyline based, meaningful and aesthetic. Of course songs like dynamite and butter were important for bts' success but i do prefer all the other songs, so i can't wait for their comeback in 2025 to see how their music will change again😆 Also i agree with what you said that now they are more individualistic. It is true because now they already have amazing chemistry so they can relax and express themselves as individulas more. BTS themselves explained that they ran out of stories to tell, you reacted to Black Swan so I’m sure you already know this. I think it’s impossible to compare this BTS to 2020 or later BTS, because at that point they were expecting to join the military, and instead covid came. They had to change all of their plans, so what came after was never meant to come out in a way. I think the start of BTS’ solo careers will be the start of a fresh 2025 BTS where they are re-inspired, refreshed and have all evolved individually. 💪🏽💜
