Ghana is just a peaceful country with the most humble people you can find on this earth. The best place to raise children. I took my 3 year old daughter there for 6 months, enrolled her in school before we went there and she didn't want to come back to New Jersey. I think its about time for black people in the diaspora to choose anywhere on the continent for their vacation spot instead of going to Europe and other countries which don't even respect black people.
@multyz15 жыл бұрын
@The ascended one What connects all people of African descent is the continent of Africa. Africa is the mother of all of us and we're bound together by her. I personally don't really care wherever anyone chooses to travel to but my time on this earth I have never heard any normal human being travel to a country with the purpose of visiting "the blacks." How would visiting the blacks in India enlighten me about slavery? You think its about seeing how dark someone is? My Indian female friend had to run away from home because she was dating a black guy here in New Jersey. We were young back then in college and I can't even tell you what her mom in particular used to do to her because of that. Visit India and tell me how it is, but there is not for me.

Point of correction.... Ghana opened its arms to Africans in the diaspora right from the time of independence in 1957. Dr. Nkrumah who was the first President of Ghana invited African Americans to stay in Ghana. Dr. W.E.B Du Bois was granted citizenship in Ghana and he actually died in Ghana, the house that was given to him by the then president is now a museum. Maya Angelou, Dr king, Malcolm etc are a few of the prominent people who visited Ghana. Ghana has the largest community of Africans in the diaspora returnees on the continent. In the year 2000 the government passed the right of abode law, which gives all Africans from the diaspora the right to live in Ghana. The “Joseph Project” was also activated that same year. This project is a government initiative that encourages Africans in the diaspora to return to Ghana. So the drive to have our brothers in the diaspora return didn’t start this year with the year of return. It’s been 60 years now since Ghana opened its doors to all our family’s that were forcefully taken from us

@maryagodoa8565 жыл бұрын
Ghanaians are very friendly toward white people. For example, I was a passenger in a car with my Ghanian wife and other members of her family. Our driver carelessly bumped into the back of another care. The people came out very angry and out driver got out and met them. But suddenly everyone started smiling and saying "OK, forget it. It's OK". They got back into their car. I was puzzled, so I asked my Ghanian step son what happened. He said that the argument was ended because they saw a white man in the car. I still don't quite understand this. Also, typically travel writers warn people are bargaining in third-world markets...saying that if you are not a local, you will get overcharged. However, I found just the opposite in Ghana. When I needed to buy something with a few US dollars, since I did not have the local money, I told them to not worry about the exchange rate, and just keep the leftover change. But this was NOT acceptable. They insisted on calculating the trade to the last penny, so I did not overpay. The other interesting thing is when I get saluted by the police at highway checkpoints. It is a friendly gesture...I am not sure exactly what they are thinking. It should be noted that the Ewe Tribe in the Volta Region voted about 8-1 AGAINST independence of Ghana from Great Britain, back in the 1950's referendum. They were quite happy being part of a British Colony....probably a lot like people in Hong Kong or Canada were.

What a powerful video, thank you for sharing we need more people doing this exact thing. I also am from the United States although I am a white woman I have married a Ghanaian and Man. My daughter and I visited GHANA for the first time in 2018 and our experience was wonderful. I felt better than I have felt in years and even though we were the only white people in the airport I felt very peaceful welcomed and at home. I love everything about GHANA! I told my husband we need to move there because in the United States he will never get the respect he deserves. I myself experienced a lot of physical issues in the states that went away when I was in Ghana. My husband has children there that are grown they took us around We are currently building our house it is almost complete I can’t wait to make GHANA my home I miss it so much I love the people . When we went to the castle it really hit us all though my daughter and I feel very strongly against how people are treated because of the color of their skin. We were actually in Ghana when the president made his comments and to show you how the people are there nobody treated us any different. The other thing I noticed is it does not matter how much or how little someone in GHANA has they will share with you.

Kimberly Mensah thank you for your input we really appreciate it. The people of Ghana are so warm and welcoming it’s unheard of. It’s good to hear what I have perceived in my 2 trips that there really is no reverse racism is accurate. That just makes me want to move all the more!!! Your husband will be well respected SOON!!! God Bless!

Bridging the Gap that’s so true we serve in a church with other Africans from various countries I feel so welcome there and I did also in Ghana I love the culture I love the people they truly take you as family it truly is peaceful. I cannot imagine what you’ll have to go through here and from my perspective everybody was welcoming and friendly and I did not feel any negativity I have a channel set up myself and wanted to post our experience because we have been lied to material things are not everything I am trying to encourage and educate those who have children in the school system to consider looking into moving

Lovely video, I'm Ghanaian myself and I didn't know I hated African Americans until African Americans told me I hated them.

Nana Kwasi I think there has been a lot of confusion regarding how brothers and sisters on the continent feel about us. Personally until now I have never heard of any African nation that actually wanted us back. I’ve heard several times that the people really didn’t want us back. I’ve seen a very little bit of that from Africans in the States. Now going to Ghana has been completely different than anything I’ve ever heard. I can’t speak for the rest of Africa from a personal vantage point but I get the sense that for the most part we have all been told lies about one another to keep us divided. That’s partly why we’ve started this channel to stop the nonsense and bridge the gap!!! Thanks for your input!!!

I agree with you. It really does feel like you've gone home. When you walk out of the terminal you are overcome with all of those beautiful brown ebony and copper colored brothers and sisters. It's just incredible and overwhelmingly beautiful. Like a home coming isn't it when you consider it?

Thank you for posting. Killing some one over pettiness is a sign of mental health issues. Grew up in San Francisco and living in mostly Florida, but have traveled the world. Can say that for the most part have experienced more B on B problems in the USA. Brought up in a loving home, instilled with a sense of self confidence and that no one is better than me and follow the golden rule manners and respect. I was not brought up to think my skin or origin was a problem or obstacle. Being a woman has had challenges in a male dominated world though. The younger USA people are a bit lacking in those areas.. I'm a of mix African and indigenous/native American. Military, education and traveling the world has helped me see the world and lots of people and come to an understanding that at a basic level we all want the same things a good life for ourselves, family and friends. Doing a lot of research and Ghana looks like a great place for me to start a business and retire.

I’m not surprised we are part of the root “Africa “ look at the gains we made under Slavery, segregation, Jim Crow. We built schools, sold food from our homes, sold clothes on the streets of Harlem. Our people in America did whatever, economically by any means necessary to make it in America. Integration lullaby us to sleep 💤 we forgot the challenges we came out of. So, us participating in the redevelopment of Africa if we truly know our history should feel like second nature. It’s in our blood, our DNA, we need to revive it by getting uncomfortable with being comfortable. Our ancestors survived emotional, mental and physical torture, and we are still going thru the psychological torture and stress daily and most of us are not even aware. We as a people lost that level of respect when they introduced fast food and integration. I remember being taught to put a handle meaning Mr and Mrs on an adults name. Even a drug addict or a person of ill repute was taught to respect them regardless for they had an addiction. I was taught not to call any adult by their first name. Once we are reintroduced to a high level of respect. We should have no problem falling into place. In the Bible it’s said Babylon is falling come out of her my people and do not partake of her Sin. The President of Ghana was inspired to give the call for Africans to come out of the west. The west is falling. If we are smart we should start making moves at minimum start researching our options. We are our ancestors!!!
