My favorite part of this whole episode was you can see Izzy slowly working on the shark in each scene he's in, and they show the progress rather well. I remember wondering the whole time what he was making, and who it would go to, and Lucius just made so much sense.

I think theres a clever metaphor there. A shark can be dangerous, but so can ones own life. One needs to not soly look at the bad side and look for lifes beauty. Lucious is only looking at what happened to him, but isnt thinking how lucky he is to be alive. Lucious needs to see the “sharks” beauty, and move past the bite marks. The shark represent life and happyness. 🦈

And he started with Lucius because Izzy knows for certain he was involved - Lucius is the only one (unless I'm forgetting someone) of the crew who can write, so he probably was the one to write the unicorn note.

@@haileymullican335 Jim can also read and write as we see them write in their journal in Spanish in season 1 (and read their wanted poster). I still think it's much more likely it was Lucius who wrote the note and I'm not sure anyone on the ship save maybe Oluwande knows that Jim can read and write. They certainly didn't volunteer for the job when Lucius was "missing" and Stede made Frenchie take over journaling duties.

@@shenai2187 They know Jim can read because they read to the crew during Blackbeard's reign of terror. But the note is definitely from Lucius. If you look at it later? There are water-marks on it from Izzy's tears. That gutted me.

@@crampedsultana Jim told the stories from memory, there was no book, Blackbeard had all the books throw overboard by then. But it was definitely Lucius who wrote the note. Ah Izzy...
