In another panel he said as that he has older brothers, and as a kid he was more like the "weird" one and his brothers were cool. He had exactly one mate, and one day his brother recruited that friend for their gang and he was alone. And he said "That's Izzy". 😭Which is even sadder. 😢

I was recently introduced to Our Flag Means Death by the Good Omens fandom. And I'm so glad this happened! OFMD is just so much fun. Before I started watching, I was slightly worried that the comedy in this show is based on characters getting themselves into embarrassing situations, and I feel very easily overwhelmed by second-hand embarrassment. But somehow the show demonstrates that, even if you do something imperfectly and embarrass yourself, it's not the end of the world. So, it has kinda been curing my social anxiety a bit :D So thank you for that!

Also if you go down the rabbit hole of the real story, Stede Bonnet was actually quite like the character, and it seems never embarrassed to be himself. He was quite useless as a pirate to start with and did wander around Blackbeard's ship in a long lounge coat and read his books... I think Rhys does that brilliantly.
