I fully agree about the holiday/simulating thing, I dont have that much time nowadays to play every game so also enjoy simulating, I barely play fm nowadays and just get my fix through you two with these versus rebuilds, love them and the interaction you have with each other, long may they continue!

The “rebuild” way of playing is the most fun for me on just about any save. Like yeah we would all love to manage every game but doing it over the course of a season is a huge time commitment. I mostly love setting up tactics, I’ll play the transfer windows but the AI’s lineups are baffling at times and locking in players means you’re risking them playing injured. Hopefully FM25 rectifies some of that and with the PL partnership putting it more into the spotlight, it’ll make change happen sooner rather than later.

Omega Luke, I have a very interesting VS challenge for you and your dad. I'm a fan from South Africa and our league has been dominated by Mamelodi Sundowns (a Pretoria based team owned by a South African Billionaire) who have won it for 8 years in a row now. The Soweto Derby is the biggest rivalry in South Africa between the two biggest and most successful teams Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs (King and Queen of South African football). It would be interesting if any of you can bring back glory to Soweto.

love the rant! i think a great addition to the game would be a "simulate next game" option so you can play in between all games manage your squad and day to day as you would but simulate the games which would easily half the time taken on games and shorten seasons

Not sure if you know but there are some skins that have "quick sim" option so you can press one button and it will simulate the game for you without you having to watch. Not sure which one

22:06 never had a keeper score for me in all my years playing FM. The craziest thing was a CL knockout game as Liverpool when Alisson got sent off or injured and I never had a keeper on the bench so Joel Matip went in net and kept a clean sheet!

It's weird cause they actually used to have it so that even if you holidayed a season it still gave you the credit like you were in charge so it effectively was like simming it, and then at some point, for some reason, they apparently made the conscious decision to change it so that you get none of the credit on your record.

Agree with you about the holidaying / simulating. It is a normal and acceptable way to play in my opinion. Just like instant result. You just give up the option to make changes mid-game, or to react on everything that happens between games. It is faster, but not easier. You have to plan carefully, create a good staff and hope they do what you want and perform as they should. Strange thing is, if you use 'holiday to nex game' and then instant result, you get all matches and manager awards added to your account. If you holiday/simulate matches too, they are not added to your account. Strange difference.

A french youtuber (ArthurRay) makes a custom mode where he plays only as a Sporting Director, in the same idea than what you do guys. He simulates the matches (doesn't go in holidays), just clicks on simulate the match, and let's the assitant coach manage the tactics and lineups of matches. He manages only the transfers and contracts of players and staff. You may like him :D

I would love for you do to the same rebuild in Bulgaria (Levski Sofia vs CSKA-Sofia) the 2 most successful clubs in Bulgaria, but the league has been dominated by Lugogorets for the past 13 years. Levski had a lot of financial problems the last few years (got saved mainly by the fans donating and by the club selling a lot of the best players), whereas CSKA has a rich owner. It would be really hard, but very interesting.

You guys have found such a good niche in this game, the best part of signing players without the longevity of playing the games I remember my first champ man in 99-00 a season was 2-3 hours tops compared to today😆. Love both you guys but always root for omega dad obvs, in this one and I think one or two before I noticed omega dad having a great start then falters as luke catches up but from what I've seen rather than keep changing the tactic if it's not working omega dad, revert to that tactic in the first season that brought you success. Keep it up guys I pay through the patreon but watch through KZbin as I think u get more of a donation through the patreon, wish I could give more to watch more of those amazing vs rebuilds, but especially the 10 year ones and glory hunters!

Now that you've done the '-kos' teams, maybe do AEK vs PAOK at some point (FM24 or 25) and see if Panathanaikos or Olympiakos become a dark horse there the way AEK was here.

Your "rant" about simulating/holidaying I completly back up. I've recently started simulating seasons rather than playing them as (because I have young children and a full time job) it'll take me the best part of a month to play just one season if I didn't, and as someone who enjoys the longer games it's the only way I can play it now. Personally I'd love it if there was a bit more flexibility with it too. Let's say where you set a "preferred XI" and then they are rotated out because of fitness etc. Rather than one player playing 60 games in a season because you've locked them in as a striker and the Assistant just mindlessly playing them.

I managed Panathinaikos on FM last year so I can relate to the struggle here 😅 but also you had to sell to clear the debt and bring the bank balance up. I know the attacking players did well for you but eating the loss for a season and bringing in some loans and free players to get your finances sorted would have pushed you over the later in the rebuild

When you are in squad selection you can use the filter and enable u21 and u18 (or what it is per league) it lets youth players to play for first team aswell when nessesary instead of a shit generated player when needed

Please make a rebuild in Poland We have some amazing derby like derby trójmiasta Between Lechia Gdańsk and Arka Gdynia. Pepole supporting Lechia calls Arka herrings or pigs so in the last derby when ultras of arka had prepared some flares for the match in the toilets of the stadium ultras of lechia stole them and replaced them with cans of herrings but ultras of arka still managed to bring some flares to the stadium. The derby has an amazing athmosphere especially in the last derby when lechia won 2:1 while playing with 10 men since 30th minute and scoring a winning goal in the 84 minute

Do a saudi arabia vs rebuild with Al-Fateh and Al-Taawoun, unlike the big clubs in Saudi Arabia they didn't have a big budget BUT they managed to get historical season and Al taawoun even managed to finish in 4th to get Asia 2 sopt (erupe league of Asia), it would be fun to see you and dad try and beat the top 4 of saudi arabia.

I recently started a save by using a wheel I put the bottom 3 teams from each league in and after eliminating all teams I ended up with Sassuolo still in my first season and we started quite well despite the 57 mil of debt 🤣 but I sold berardi and got a bit of budget and signed a few budget players like cassano, giay (best signing by far. Only signed him cos Chelsea etc were interested) and a few others and have started struggling quite bad so testing tactics 😬
