Uterus cancer is NOT detected in pap smear. Cervical cancer is. Would appreciate getting this corrected because I had uterine cancer and while 95% that it will not reoccur, there actually is no screening. Thanks.

If as much energy was put into offering proper, nutritious food and eliminating the chemicals sprayed in the air, there wouldn't be as much cancer.

@@AnnSisuLiv What i’m saying is that reality doesn’t care much about our specific wishes. What I’m saying is that your solution is unfathomable to the population as a whole. “That never ends well…” And yet that is exactly what we as a world society are doing at the moment anyway.

@jimk8520 Just because current society is racing towards crashing into a brick wall, it doesn't mean it's the correct or best way to do things. And if everyone is as passive towards problems as you seem to be, the race towards collapse goes even faster and quality of life diminishes more quickly

I hate the assumption that patients are stupid creatures who will panic or become hypochondriacs with more knowledge. Most people can handle bad news quite well if they have data to understand it. Unecessary follow ups happen when we know our body is sick and are told for years we have anxiety or some such garbage. Our sensory system is better than any medical test. Why not believe it?
@VaeldargАй бұрын
Because your sensory system is often flawed. You don't need to be told that you have anxiety to know you have anxiety, as well. Seems like you're contradicting yourself, given that it's the "sensory system" that gives the feeling of anxiety. (feeling cold, nausea/upset stomach, nervousness, so on) If someone disregards medical testing because they're going by some non-expert "guru" promoting supplements/homeopathic nonsense, then you can't blame others for considering them to be stupid.

Detection =/= Prevention. Love the endeavor and hope to see AI make detection more affordable, however I think the distinction is important. Also, Bryan Johnson just partnered with Ezra to provide more affordable MRI Testing ranging from $1200 - $5000. Truly a big fan of both parties!

@StephenSmith304Ай бұрын
Detection is the first step to prevention, I don't think anyone here is thinking that it's cured as soon as you detect it, but if earlier detection increases successful prevention, then I think it's not necessarily inaccurate to say that early detection leads to more prevention.
@TriflixfilmsАй бұрын
@@StephenSmith304 Preventing cancer > detecting and mitigating. A fire alarm doesn't prevent fire, it just detects it and lets you know that it needs to be treated. Marketing detection as prevention is bad marketing, it prevents fatalities... But it doesn't prevent cancer or anything else that it screens for.
@StephenSmith304Ай бұрын
@@Triflixfilms No, detection is not "greater than" prevention, detection leads to prevention. If you don't see that fire alarms detecting fires leads to the prevention of deaths, or you don't see how cancer detection can lead to prevention when you take action, then there's no hope for you. You're literally the dog meme saying no detection, only prevention.

The reason there is a shortage of physicians in this country is because the American Medical Association (AMA) has long lobbied congress to prevent increases in gov't funding of new medical schools and continuing education programs like residencies and fellowships. Also, there is a huge fallacy that increase survivability is associated with early detection, it left biases the survival data but a lot of mammogram studies show that surveillance does not lead to prevention. If you live in the US you're going to get a high level of care, with or without the assistance of AI. AI makes their jobs easier and more accurate by a small degree on the margins, where AI really helps is if you don't live near a major medical center, then it flattens the quality of care you could receive.

Will AI be used in orthopedics too? I had a traumatic shoulder injury that is missed 70% of the time by radiologists. I knew I had it, had mechanism of injury and symptoms to support it, but couldn't get treatment because the radiologist report didn't say it. I eventually paid out-of-pocket 6 months post injury for surgical investigation which proved it, but meanwhile I had unecessary nerve damage and cartilage damage which is devastating for an athlete. Also being told over and over I was anxious and making things up causes insane psychological distress and confidence problems. I'm sure AI would see it on the images.

This is the easy path, the hard path would be to reduce the cost of the mri machine itseif or combine it in one device with multiple sensor modalities for cost savings, which likely is what will be needed. It needs to go from 5000 to about 500 per scan.

Solving cancer is an input, output matrix equation where categorical understanding of all of the inputs and what is contained within the output. The food and environmental aspects are the input criteria and what is contained within the tumour after removal. Once these things have been weighed against each other then full understanding can be acted upon.

There are all types of machine learning algorithms. The transformers architecture is what gives the ChatGPT interface. AI is a very general term that doesn’t mean much. It is just a hype term. I can assure you that it is already being used in your healthcare. A normal computer or phone or tablet today uses extensive AI technology.

“There’s no opportunity for bias” of an AI is just so wrong and a dangerous assumption to make. AI’s are built by humans, off of human data both of which are impossible without bias, and assuming AI isn’t susceptible to biases means not actively working against the ones that occurs. At least it’s the interviewer and not the person actually working on this, who comes with this blunder of a statement. I’m sorry, I don’t mean for this to seem like a hateful comment, but it’s just really important to be aware of the fallibility of things like AI, if we are to rely so heavily on them.
