If I am not mistaken, I remember in the pairing video it was said that Farkus and Azura have only produced slugs when bred together and it was unclear which hognose was the reason. So because Farkus was paired with Jeffina II and produced only slugs, it’s Farkus, not Azura.

A "breeding season review" video would be so cool. For example, if you guys went through the breeding plans video and commented on each planned pair with whether or not you got eggs (in the case of multiple potential fathers who the real one was, if you can tell??) The hatch rate. Maybe a morph % breakdown... you could get super nerdy with it, and I know both myself and most of my friends would absolutely love it! (I also have an aunt who homeschools and could make a couple of lessons out of it)

@@sergioalanis1099 That's true but I think there is a disconnect with the idea that people want their babies BECAUSE they have the idea that each snake is named, cared for and treated as an individual. That stops being the case when it becomes clear that nobody is even checking on them which is clear from the previous curator not taking care of them and them not noticing and many of their snakes not even having names. It's just become warehousing

Waffle was first paired with Crowley who is arctic het. Toffee belly. Considering how many eggs she laid, the odds would be good to get some Toffees and some Arctic Toffee if he was the dad. I also thought Farkus was paired with Jeffina 2 to see whether he was responsible for Azura slugging out or if she was. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have a number of suggestions for non-egg-related videos: I remember Emily mentioning that she wanted to do some. Here's a list of ones I'd watch. I've put them in clusters of related suggestions. * Which snakes or other reptiles are good for starters. And why! * How to set up a good habitat for starter snakes or reptiles. * How to care for a starter snake or reptile. * How to get your animal used to being handled in ways your vet would need to look at them. (In my pets, I make checking their ears, nose, paws, eyes, teeth and under their tail part of my loving handling, and very much part of my grooming handling. Yes I only have mammals.) * What signs to look for to determine if your starter animal is sick. And why your normal handling should show you most of those signs. * Which types of illness you can treat yourself, which you should make an appointment with the vet and which ones warrant asking the vet for an urgent appointment. * What it takes to ethically breed an animal. (Including vet visits, checking bloodlines, avoiding breeding in ways that create genetic problems, helping egg-bound females, all of that stuff.) * Why breeding isn't an easy, cheap money maker. * What you do when deciding which snakes should be put together to breed. * Longevity of a reptile. What to do with your reptile/s if you're getting too old (or sick, or disabled) to look after them properly. * How to ensure you can afford a sudden emergency vet journey, especially if it involves expensive procedures. * What happens if you surrender your pet to a rescue. I think this set will keep you occupied for a long time, and will in itself spawn other ideas and suggestions. (If anyone wants to add to this list, please reply specifically to this post, so all the ideas are clustered together for Emily's & Ed's benefit.)

(Not the same as finding a good vet for mammals.) * How to make a reptile unable to have kids safely and kindly. (Are there reptile equivalents for spaying and neutering? Or are there reptile-better techniques?) * Why you might want to get an intermediate snake? (Note: showing off to friends is not a good reason.) * What are the differences between a starter reptile and an intermediate? Why? * Which reptiles should only be kept by a zoo? (a major zoo, no offense meant to your zoo, Ed & Emily) * Which should only be kept by an antivenine maker?

@@juliatarrel1674 don’t like the word starter pets making it seem like these pets can be neglected because their easier, more boring, easily replaced ect but in fact they are just as unique and deserving of love as any it’s more breeders or collectors (not in a negative way) that worry about a pattern or morph ext and unfortunately the harder they are to breed the rarer and more value they are. It annoys me as a dude in my street has 4 snakes and the only 2 that ever get shown on his profile, handled and showed the attention and care they deserve are his two ban pys his corn snakes are just left in their vivs because they were his starters 😢
