I love how you don't worry about sharks or take any precautions, you just jump in!

The precautions involve knowing what are safe conditions. There's probably a lot going on that the camera doesnt convey that is second nature after being a working diver for so many years.

I've been diving (both scuba and free) for over 40 years and I never knew that clear the snorkel trick - makes perfect sense but I've always done it the other way (which can be fun when you've exhausted most of your air). I guess you also want to face the waves when you do it. Great video as always. 25 and 20 metres is very impressive - that's about 82 and 65 feet for our US friends. Three atmospheres of pressure down there. No wonder you needed the lights to brighten up the coral colours! Pas's bum has been getting a lot of screen time lately (not that I'm complaining!). Troy, you're going to have to catch up for the ladies! :-)

If you crave lemon. Look up salt lemon. Its basically lemon in salt. It ferments and gets a nice mild flavor and last for month! And the best... it gets better with time!

Pascale does make that to a Moroccan recipe. Crazy flavors

nice one! A note on charging stuff: while inverters are quite efficient nowadays, most chargers for 220V/110V sadly are not. Often it's much more efficient to get DC/DC chargers, especially for power hungry equipment like laptops. DC chargers also vary in efficiency, a good one is like 98% efficient, on comparison a bad wall charger can be around 70%. rule of thump: if it gets hot, it's inefficient.

Ciguatera....larger fish have more. “If it’s longer than your arm, it’ll do you harm”....that was the rhyme I was taught. In the Bahamas, they toss a silver coin in the pan with the fish. If the coin turns black, they say the fish is poisonous.....

I like the rhyme but I think the coin trick has been disproved.

Very nice underwater photography. Next time you need a snorkel, try the Head snorkel with the little extra piece of silicone that fits against the roof of your mouth. It is very comfortable and the mouthpiece lasts forever. The tube end that is at the waterline has a stupid notch in it. I ran some Tyvek tape over the notch and the same tape has been in place for 3 years.

A bit late watching these last two videos. Laid up in hospital since 10/17. Cleaning branches from some of the trees in my yard and made a misstep on the last one. Fell off the ladder from five feet at foot level. Six broken ribs, two non-displacement fractures of the pelvis, bruised and lacerated right lung, and a broken thumb. Never a dull day, but should have stayed at sea, ehhh??? Wonderful videos once again and, I ordered a s sweat shirt. Have fun guys and I’ll keep my feet on the ground under doctors orders!!!

I never understood big-bore snorkels - like breathing into a plastic bag, blurgg... The hardest thing to find was a snorkelling buoyancy compensator - essential safety item around the rocks, and not one to be found anywhere! Two beautiful and amazing creatures at 17min 20, aren't they wonderful.. Highly recommend the frame-by-frame plugin.
@CesarGonzalez-kt7vp6 жыл бұрын
Ready for some critiques? If Not Skip This :-) Really like your skill at giving instructions, and getting direct to the point without lengthy introduction on what you're going to talk about, the lack of background music is good too, but I do find and I don't know if it's only me but, when the music minus the voice comes on, it's usually twice louder as the voice portions, why this is I don't know but I end up turning down the volume every time and it is annoying, like I said this not only on your videos. Your underwater footage is good too, Sony seems to have a pretty good stabilizer, but I find stabilization software can be an added plus if needed. Also, adding a red filter for the deeper dives really helps add color, but you can also color correct within a good video editor, down side it is adds an extra step. Cheers Guys!

I saw an Episode where you were having issues with braided line. Here's what you need to know about braided line and saltwater. If you do not rinse your real thoroughly with fresh water the salt water will crystallize inside the brade and it will just cut the shit out of it within the braided line itself. I learned this lesson the hard way and it wasn't until I put the line under a microscope so I could see what was happening. I had my suspicions but I needed a microscope to confirm my theory. I hope the this helps you in the future. Waven four fingers an a big ol thumb from Salem Oregon Salem Oregon BAT SHIT Crazy USA😊

Great job. I noticed right around 21 minutes you shot some corals that were migrating through a pre-death bleached phase when they were purple. Do you remember what temperature the water was at that point? It looked like you were no more than 2 meters depth.
@FreeRangeLiving6 жыл бұрын
No but any bleaching would have been triggered by a fairly quick change before we got there. There is a lot of damage north of Cairns caused by a big warm pool of water moving in from the pacific. Holmes reef probably got some of it.

Sunlight penetration is better in shallow water. The warm end of the light spectrum gets knocked out of light quickly by water. That's why the video looks so blue down deep.
