Great Video, thanks for sharing 😊If I have to keep the mezzanine I would have put the kitchen underside, its close to the doorways which is always handy for when you hang out outside and knock down the current kitchen's nook to create bigger living room space. So exited to see what you are going to do the space, great work 👍

For laying laminate flooring why do you need to glue the floor ?
@JonnoRodd3 ай бұрын
It’s an engineered board. So it’s real timber as a veneer on top of a ply type substrate. Glueing it is just the best way to get it as solid as possible. Some people lay it as a floating style floor. But it can move, creak and just not be as solid underfoot.

@@JonnoRodd thank you for the clarification. our flooring vendor laid a similar floor with an underlay and it has creaked and moved ever since. What do you suggest as a remedy ?
@JonnoRodd3 ай бұрын
@@mohsinzahur not much you can do without pulling it up. But it depends on the product and how it’s specified to be installed. Also depends on what the subfloor is under it.

@@JonnoRoddit is laid on a concrete floor Will it be a good idea to re-lay it with glue or just leave it as it is ?

I still do think U Guys need to consider to thorn it down all...and build from groud up...for the long run I think it will be cheaper 😅😅😅

Easier, yes. Cheaper, yes… but where’s the fun in that 😂 we loved the character of this home, it was too good to totally destroy

Bashing the last board in, allowing no expansion joint? That flooring is doomed
@JonnoRodd3 ай бұрын
There’s a good 5mm gap. The last one needs to go in on an angle. Then be squeezed in to join the tongue and groove. Once slid into place it leaves a good amount of gap for expansion.
@Huntingforgeorge3 ай бұрын
We’ve left plenty of expansion gaps against all walls! Just gotta get it in somehow!
