This week’s episode is a vlog that followed us through a week of our homeschooling schedule. This was scheduled for release today… and I have decided to release it because so many have commented that it brings you a sort of peace. I pray that this channel will always do that. Although my children do not go to traditional school, I do drop them off at quite a few extra curricular classes in school settings and these continued tragic stories are horrifying… grocery stores, schools… it no longer feels safe to go out. Even before yesterday, when dropping them off at their classes, we always talk about escape routes and exits. What crazy existence is this? How many of us go to restaurants, stores, malls and look for exits or places to hide??!?! I know we do. And we’ve been doing this for years now. How incredibly sad is that? Yesterdays news was a nightmare. Oh how my heart breaks for these families. 💔 I hope in the mist of these pains, you can find escapes, pockets of some peace. The mind is a battlefield. Please take care of yourselves. Sending you all the biggest hug.

Such a natural instinct now to make sure your mapping out how to get out of wherever your at. One of the many quotes I live by... "I wouldn't change my kids for the world. I would change the world for my kids ". Something along those lines.

My perception of homeschooling was completely different than this. I didn’t think that I was cut out for teaching my little ones. I love how much you are able to rely on so many aspects of your local community. I didn’t realize how well rounded homeschooling could be. I also thought that my kids wouldn’t get the social skills needed but your girls are so confident and they get to hang out with several groups. Thanks for this Claudette! This was comforting to watch at a time like this. ❤️

Claudette! This week’s episode was so educational and insightful. There’s so many layers to unpack. First off, thank you for being so vulnerable with us and being transparent around the girls’ homeschooling process. There were many aspects of their schooling that I liked, which included making the world around them their classroom. I believe your version of homeschooling to be thoroughly enriching. The wide variety of topics and themes that the girls are exposed to will help them in whatever career or academic pursuit they choose. In addition, I love the quiet moments that are intentionally built into their day. I have a Masters of Education in School Counseling and one of the things I dislike about traditional school environments is how they don’t provide students a lot of room for quiet time, reflection, meditative breaks. There’s unfortunately a lot of behavior management that occurs during class hours, which takes away from learning. This week’s episode was such a joy to watch. I love the connection and bond that you have with your girls. I also love that your parents and close friends are also part of the learning environment. I just felt like the girls are surrounded by a loving cocoon of warmth and support. I’m just in awe of you as a woman, wife, and a mother. You inspire me very much. I have a four month old son and I am learning so much from you and Gerd in how I want my husband and I to parent our son, with intention, purpose, wisdom, love, and so much more. Thank you for sharing your life with us. I feel like society is craving more quality content (like yours) that can raise our collective consciousness around family, integrity, love, connection, culture, marriage, parenthood, and all the other topics you will cover on your channel. It is with immense gratitude that I thank you and your entire family for sharing a glimpse into your world.

We homeschooled our kids for many years and had co-ops and lots of CC and field trips. Our oldest went to college and youngest is in Public high school. I’m still recovering from my homeschool days but I do dearly miss the sweet mornings and field trips and flexibility and community!! What a blessing and covering from the Lord. I’m down to one child at home and I still think the running around is just as much. However I capitalize on bubble baths these days. Well done Claud!!!! Keep going moma bear. I’m 41 and just now catching my breath. It’s a slow and steady jog

I started homeschooling my 4 girls this year. It has been challenging for me but I love it. We are Muslim and I was not happy with what is being taught in school and also the pressure they felt. We had issues with bullying also. I also love that that have time to discover who they are through different activities and courses. Yes weekends here are spent buying supplies for experiments and art projects

Lord, it’s me again lol. Please bless our family with the financial means so that I can have the time and resources to home school my two daughters as well. In Jesus Name, Amen! PS. You’re an amazing mom! I don’t do half of these things with my girls because I’m back in school and they go to school as well. But at times I still feel overwhelmed and feel that I dont have enough time to take care of myself. How do you invest so much time and energy into them and still make time to pour into yourself? Do you ever feel lost in mommyhood?

Thank you for sharing this! So eye opening the way you run your homeschooling! Maybe an episode would be how you can create what you’re doing for the mama on a lower budget or tips and tricks to still give world schooling on a budget I also LOVE the “it takes a village” my biggest fears in ever taking on home schooling is 1. I don’t know nearly enough to teach + 2. Not having the support to sustain it! Seeing your mom and dad as well as the group you designed is so beautiful and I hope to one day design this lifestyle that my kids and their kids can experience also!

The community in this video is AMAZING! I live the way the girls aren’t really missing anything in terms of a tradition classroom setting. I’ve got a masters in Sociology with an emphasis in education and I currently work as a private tutor. My long term goal is to one day open a school for marginalized students. So seeing the fun and unique ways in which your girls learn is really inspiring! Now I wanna do research on the homeschooling process. Such a great episode, can’t wait for the next one!

I recently rewatched Adrienne’s Day in the Life Quarantine vlog when all of you were staying with her and Israel in LA, and I recall you saying that homeschooling in quarantine was not as easy as some people thought it was. I remember being one of those people who thought “How could it not be?”, given my narrow-minded view of what I thought homeschooling was. After watching this vlog and your other video on homeschooling, it totally makes sense of why homeschooling in quarantine would be extremely challenging. Thank you for being so transparent and giving people like myself a whole new perspective on what non-traditional schooling looks like. You’re changing minds and views in a non-confrontational which is amazing. Your girls are such beautiful little souls, you and Gerd are obviously doing something right. Thank you for blessing us with an insight into your family life. It can’t be easy putting yourselves out there but to me, it shows such an innate sense of self and confidence. You’re an inspiration. If you get around to reading this comment, thank you for taking the time.
