Great presentation, slides move too quickly though. I served as a senior DMCCC at MCAFB and LRAFB, put the Titan II to bed in 1987, then became a Deuce deputy flight CC, MCCC, code controller and chief of code handler training at GF. Great presentation. I agree, they transitioned too fast. I taught/wrote about Minuteman/Peacekeeper from 1981-1993 at Chanute as an instructor, instructor supervisor and CDC Writer after spending 30 months at Ellsworth AFB, SD to start my career. I had to do a public speaking engagement for the DAR in Champaign, IL. After receiving a copy of the treaty, had to sign for the brown envelope it came in at the Base Commanders office. My speech itself had to be approved by all levels of command up to the Pentagon and back down with the instructions to not deviate from what was approved by "one word". I had to write a an after action report of any comments or issues that happened. There were none other than total support from the DAR members. I spent 16 years in missiles, 2 years in recruiting, then had to change career field to personnel for the last 2 years to retire. Of course, due to leaving recruiting and being an E-7, I got to pick my base and picked a missile base, F. E. Warren AFB in good old Wyoming. I was back home amongst my peeps. Best assignment of them all. Wish I could have stayed after I retired, but, returned home to be with family. MSgt David R. Smyth, USAF, Ret.
