We can definitely agree with the long winters! It's nice to visit in the summer but I don't think we could live there all year long. We didn't know that about Vancouver! Hi guys. What a beautiful city Calgary. So modern and neat. Its streets and parks surprisingly clean. I didn't see a single piece of paper lying in the streets. That has to do with the education of its people.The respect to take care of what is theirs. Talking about Calgary different means very beautiful. This has been a final touch of a wonderful trip and I feel privileged to have known so many amazing places through your journey. Seeing Eva again, meeting Roman, so nice guy, made the contact even more warm. Thanks a lot sweeties.

Calgary really is very neat and modern. I suppose it's an advantage of these relatively "new" cities which don't have to deal with problems like narrow streets and outdated infrastructure. But out favorite North American city we've been to is Vancouver which is even more modern looking 😊 Perhaps Canadians in general take a good care of their cities. We're glad you've been enjoying our trip!

We enjoyed your little tour around Calgary. FYI, delphiniums are a perennial here in BC but sometimes will not survive a very severe winter. As for the neighbourhoods you found with groups of the same house, after WWII these were often built to quickly provide affordable housing for those returning from the war. These neighbourhoods are very noticeable in Vancouver.
@tommyandpeter2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, that is good news about delphiniums 😊 Also it sounds interesting about the housing after WWII. But we've also seen brand new neigborhoods (many of them at the edges of Calgary as it is expanding at a fast pace) that also have bigger groups of houses that look the same.

Who would ever have guessed that Peter was a City Fairy? 🤣 Thanks for the tour of down town Calgary and it’s more select suburbs. I really enjoyed the gardens at the zoo, which were wonderfully empty. We didn't have much time in Calgary. We had to catch a plane to Toronto. The only thing I remember was that it was freezing cold so we wanted to be inside. We visited a garden which was at the top of a tall building. I think it was called The Garden in The Sky. I wonder if it's still there ?
@tommyandpeter2 жыл бұрын
Exploring in cold can be fun but not for long. Although it creates lasting freezing memories (Oslo, Norway in our case). I remember we visited a garden placed on the top floor of a shopping mall back in 2015. Perhaps we're talking about the same place? We haven't been there since then though.

I am surprised that mosquitoes are a problem in Canada. I expect them in the subtropics where I live but I would have thought the freezing weather would kill them off. I was surprised that in some smaller towns, everything on main street had to be the same architecture like a European village. Loved it. That was a long walk. Thanks.

It seems mosquitoes are all around the world, but they are adapted to the local climate. Our mosquitoes behave differently than those in Canada. Ours actually prefer colder weather. They hide when it's warm. But they don't like too cold either.
