I wasn't born til 1973, but the humour Jimmy Young displayed transcended 'The Troubles' and still raises laughs in 2020. Priceless and timeless

Born in Tyrone. Left NI in 1979. I've watch this a dozen times, but still struggle to understand some of the words. Absolutely ahead of his time. In the series he must play about a 10 different female characters alone. Thank you Jack for putting these up.

Lived in London since 1977 but remember JY progs before I left. Can;t fully understand, at times, NI accent, inc some fam, nieces, gran nieces etc lol but s'funny I can understand EVERY word of JY. Also remember his catchphrase at the end of every show.. similiar to Dave Allen ... goodnight & may your god go with you.. JY's was...looking STRAIGHT into camera.. 'and do us a favour, stop fightin'... always remember that. He sneaked that in right at the end. RIP JY.

The actress Lila Webster said Jimmy Young wouldn't work with her as she got some of the laughs. I always think this is so sad as the two of them working together would have been brilliant. And the lady working with him certainly got no laugh so I believe Lila.

@@gaggymott9159 But it isn't one of the better class districts... and later refers to Castlereagh. He seems to be referring to "the nine penny stage" which I think is a reference to bus fares.
