As a local who spent sometime living in the mainland and now residing back on island, I know you may have a bunch of questions as you and your family adapt to the island lifestyle. Hoping the process gets a little easier for you day by day. Welcome to Saipan.

Wow! Awesome video on your journey to Saipan. It touched my heart. Thank you for sharing it with us! I admire your courage and willingness to take action. I'm a local boy from Saipan currently living in Arizona. My family and I were just there back in June. I realized when I was there how much I really need to move back home. I think seeing this is a sign for me to start taking action, as well. Saipan is truly a gem. All the best to you and your family!

Have you considered moving to Texas First, before moving aaaaalllll the waaaaayyyyy to Saipan? There’s still a lot of freedom here and it’s cheapeeeeer than living on an island.

@@bernarduntalan2751 I lived in Tennessee for 25 years..Colorado before that.. we actually considered several states (including texas) and other countries before saipan.. we spent 4 years trying to figure out where to go. I’m just curious, you did know that both Guam 🇬🇺 and the CNMI 🇲🇵 are both parts of the United States 🇺🇸? Also how is it living on Saipan? I know that the Marianas islands is a beautiful part of the United States but I’ve unfortunately never have been. Also do you believe that the CNMI should remain a US territory or become a U.S. state?
@vonmehrenproductions85773 жыл бұрын
I accidentally miss spoke...😟, it's just human nature to say "moved away from the country" but yes I know CNMI is technically part of the States.. my apologies on that.

@@vonmehrenproductions8577 All good, I am curious though if the CNMI were to change status from territory to something else, what do you think should be the next status? US statehood? Also do you think that the residents living in Saipan and Guam should be able to vote for the president? I’m genuinely curious on your opinion
@vonmehrenproductions85773 жыл бұрын
@@dylanshaffer2184 hmm.. that's a thick question.. can you DM me on Facebook messenger.. (Von Mehren Productions) we can discuss all that there.
@dylanshaffer21843 жыл бұрын
@@stevenmoylan166 Thank you. As a mainlander, I personally believe that my fellow Americans living in the territories should be equal in the eyes of our government, including representation in Congress, the right to vote for the president in the general elections, still have the independence of a state while still within the union, I personally believe that all of the territories should become states, especially Guam, the cnmi, and Puerto Rico. I’m very interested in the history of the political status of the territories and I’m interested in the current opinions on the status by the residents. I think both territories could become separate states, but I do agree that a United Marianas would be a more valid case for US statehood. I also see the strategic importance of the Marianas, along with the economic importance. I also believe that statehood would send a strong message to the Chinese, that the United States is not leaving the region any time soon. I also think you should listen to this podcast called Memoirs Pacifika, where their 4th episode talked about how the Northern Marianas became a commonwealth of the United States. I am curious, that if the territories were asked in a yes or no vote for statehood, what would the people vote for, and if not would the people want to keep their status or become independent
@dylanshaffer21843 жыл бұрын
@@stevenmoylan166 and that is why I believe that Guam and the Marianas should become states of the union or on state to forever keep Guam and the rest of the Marianas a part of the United States

Welcome to SAipan, USA. You should be able to build a decent life here. Yes, it's hot and humid, but you NEVER have to shovel SNOW! It's small, you can adjust. Once you establish a routine and get everyone acclimated to living just 15ºN of the equalor, life will be quieter, calmer and far, far away from the stresses of the political RAT-RACE. I shouid know, I came here with my grandfather - 13 YEARS ago. ~Alexa Shaw, Just A Simple Photographer.
