Kids sometimes lovingly come back with reinforcements!! It was great bonding and we are so close . It reminds me of my great grandparents living with my grandparents and my mom. Multi generational homes and love!

What adorable grandsons! Your idea of getting away with Mrs. Cornstar for a few weekend now and then is a great idea for all. You all will appreciate each other more! I find it very interesting what happens behind the scenes in the real life farm world. Thanks for sharing.

Personally I love seeing more of the kids/grandkids moving back home. Family needs family especially when there r tiny humans involved. My son is back at 40 and I’m loving it. Get to see him everyday and we get to share r lives at an age where we both appreciate it more. I believe God intended for family to be with family.

I raised three children and for about a nanosecond second I was by my self thinking of enjoying some traveling when my oldest moved back in with his 5 children after he got laid off when his company closed. The youngest at the time was about a year old, now he’s 17. It’s been a good arrangement but hectic at times. I wouldn’t change a thing.

My kids and I moved into my parents house, my husband was stationed in the Army and was about to get out. The kids and I were along 1000s miles from family. My husband joined us 3 months later when he was discharged. We was beginning a new life. We had a house being built and had to wait 9 months for it to be done. It was good to be with family. My kids were young. Age 9 and 3. We have now been in our house for 17 years. My parents are 30 minute drive from our house. It was a blessing that we could live with my parents while we waited to move into our new home. Thankfully they had plenty of room.

I’m 33, disabled with a few amputations. I bought my own house 8 years ago. After 6 years I couldn’t afford it anymore. Living on disability and working as much as I’m allowed too still doesn’t cover all the bills. This life is not made for single people. Thank god for my parents. Since I’m back with them, they will never see a nursing home ever! I’ll take care of them ❤

Before the big hurricane that hit in the fall of 2022 our son and his two daughters moved in with us. They had been living in a camper at a campground while he was building their new house. That was September 20th or so. There was so much damage from the storm that they could nit go back to the campground and ended up staying with us until December 22nd. We had just completed an addition to our house the week before Hurricane Fiona hit. This was for my mother in law. In total with my wife four of our children two grandchildren and my mother in law we had ten people living here with no power for a week and walls and parts of roofs blown of of some of the barns. However it was great being all together and having lots of time with our granddaughters aged three and six. The youngest loves watching tractor videos with me. Keep up the good work.

A couple of my chldren moved back in for a while with their spouse and child/chldren during job moves, or home sales for a short time. They took over the upstairs, and we were downstairs. It worked out well, and having the grandkids there with us was really nice.

Right after my wife and I got married, we stayed with my parents for about 6 months while we saved up a good down payment on our current home. This was 8 years ago. Being able to save that money made all the difference in the world! We were very fortunate to have them help us out and let us stay, rent free. Of course I helped do a lot of things, but luckily my parents are very self sufficient. Now they take care of our two boys, and provide daycare while we’re at work. Great parents like you DC and mama corn star are a Godsend. No money could ever repay and the experience that the kids get is unforgettable.

Yes we had a son and his family. We set a time limit of six months. We made them there own space upstairs. We had kitchen rules and made only spaces in fridge and cupboards. By doing that from day one we all had a great time and it went quickly. Lots of good memories and became close with the grandbaby. I'll always be grateful we had that time.❤️

Know all about this. Overhere in the Netherlands we call this 'boomerang kids'. The further you throw them out, the harder they come back. My eldest son and his family, also 2 little boys, had to stay with us for 2 months in 2014. Also because of a home renovation.

Great advice… I often wonder how grandparents manage when their children and grandchildren live far away. I told my daughter longtime ago, “where you move to, I will move close by”. We both depend on each other and Ive been her only childcare provider. Childcare’s so expensive and I’m happy me and grandpa have helped in that and many other ways.

4 years ago, my daughter and son in law and 10 month old granddaughter lived with us for 4 months while they built a house. Everything went well and it was fun having the granddaughter here for her 1st bday. They moved out on a Saturday and my dad moved in on Monday because of cvd lock downs. He lived with us for 9 months till he passed away. 1.5 years ago, my other daughter and son in law moved in with their 2 kids. They are still here and we enjoy seeing the grand babies every day (3 & 1.5 yo).

Right at the beginning of C in March of 2020, my son and his wife and 2 kids moved in with us from out of state. It was wonderful. They could have the entire upstairs with approx 1800 sqft, and I was able to get to know my daughter in law better. It was so nice for all of us. Also, my daughter was home from college and we played a lot of games, gardened a lot, laughed a lot. It was so positive.

My daughter, son-in-law and the grandchildren moved in for a couple of months a while back, but it was not a good time. My wife was dying and they were a huge help as the brain tumors took over my wife's life. She enjoyed the children while she could, but as things became too close they spent time with the TV and homework. Feeding, keeping up with the treatments and caring were pretty full time tasks for a while. Happily the end was not traumatic life just drifted away, at home as my wife and the family had wished. I trust your visit will be a good one.

It's not that bad to have your kids move back in. I lost my Father June 6 and it happen to us as well, we became even closer, not that we had a bad relationship that man was my Hero. However when I was around I was able to help him mow grass and help out alot more. You guess work together all the time on the farm so maybe it will be different to you, I don't know. But it was great and dad and I would sneak off and go see concerts, and plane vacation and sled riding trips for the grandkids. It was excellent. Started to attend church again weekly with dad plus Bible studies. The experience was pricless and just thinking about it brings me to tears and even more so that he passed June 6, it's been rough. Like I said that man was my Hero and well it seems hard to move on without him. I still find my self trying to make him proud as strange as that sounds.

I had both of my daughters move out only to return home again. It was a little hard with one of them but great with the other. My youngest (age 43) Just found out she has cancer so we will be attending the cancer centre for surgery out of town and then taking care of her. Parenting is not a one a done, once you become parents you have a duty to take care and be there for them for life. ❤

They are so fortunate to have grandparents to help with the babies. It would be overwhelming for them with all they are trying to do.

Both of my sons moved back. One son with his family until they closed on their house. Youngest one still home, but he's more than a chauffeur to the Docs, and he has taken over my chef postion. All is good.

We enjoyed when our daughter and her husband stayed with us for several months. Her husband worked during the day with a remote job so he was always ready for a good meal, a beer or three and just chatting about man stuff. The best part was Ashlyn was responsible for the dishes and dishwasher again!

Hi Daddy Cornsta! The house market is so bad that many people under 30 can’t move out of their parents houses. It’s really hard for current job wages to match the high prices of rent. Especially in the area where I live (New England). Cole is very lucky he can be able to remodel. 😂

Personal opinion, take every moment you can get with the grand kids and your son. It might be a bit of a challenge but WELL worth the sacrifice to me. Seeing things through their eyes is amazing. Find a balance but by all means do it! Steve…
