@mikemendes7598 I'm not sure what video you watched? The shot set-ups, lighting, editing, BGM, and storyline were all extremely well done. Yes, it was Jack's story, so it was about his past six months of his life. We as adults need to encourage younger people to pursue their creative art. But I guess for some of us, it's easier to sit behind the keyboard and to tear them down.

Keith, you’re so right about not getting to the end. You and I are about the same age and now I’m in bed about 90% of my day, from something that’s eating my spine and joints. My plan was to have a power cat and spend time between FL and the Bahamas and even the Great Loop. Well that’s not going to happen now. Enjoy life and your family while you can. I’ve learned to enjoy things, but in a different way. I can sit up and fly a sim for a bit, 3d print things and even learn new things via the internet. I just have to do them in small chunks now. If you haven’t found joy in Jesus, you’ll never find joy in anything. Another great video. Thanks.

Always love watching your vids. Kids or not. But will be great to see some returning to the nest for a bit. A few comments on ‘the grind’. I’m less than 3 years out from retiring and as much as I hated the grind in the early days, I have to say, I am so damn grateful for it. Being in corporate America taught me perseverance, solidified my work ethic, honed my communication and diplomacy skills, connected me with extremely valuable relationships, paid for me to do what I truly loved for many years - coaching kids and competing in horse sports, compensated me very well as an executive assistant (thank you DC area), gave me security and made SO MANY things possible for me. I wouldn’t change a thing. For young people just entering the job market - yes, you are going to tell yourself you don’t want a desk job but there is a reason why the majority of us do it - it just works. High five to everyone who can figure out a way to not work in corporate America. I actually did step away from it at one point to do the horse thing full time and it just wasn’t enriching at all for me. No matter how much I loved the sport. But that is what makes the world go ‘round! Diversity! Renee, Keith, keep cranking out the great content. I love being a vicarious blue water sailor through you guys. Way cheaper and way more fun for me :) And Keith, congrats on the weight loss. Keep on keeping on and isn’t there something that needs fixing’ on the boat? #whereisthefixinporn?

I love the Sailing Zatara story. Although I didn’t sell everything to travel full time (because of elderly parents, children and grandchildren that I couldn’t just leave behind lol) I was able, fortunate and blessed to retire extremely early in life and I’m able to enjoy time with all of the above mentioned. We travel together from time to time but more importantly than that, we are all together and to me that is golden. To each their own of course and cheers to everyone’s own personal journey. Life is short 🥂

Happy birthday young lady. I never looked at my job has "the grind". I loved my job. I was a carpenter and bricklayer. I loved making things that people would live in. Me and my brother built many houses. I couldn't wait to go to work and would always be at the job site early and worked late. I couldn't see myself doing another job.

I also dont see my working life as a grind. I love the ebbs and flows, the friendships, I guess its about getting satisfaction from making and helping and perhaps being a part of something larger. I love to watch people on endless holidays occasionally but i don't lust after it.

We are retiring after the first of the year, 60 and 62. Having lost our parents at a young age affected our goals and how we live in the moment instead of putting it off. HOWEVER, we both realize how fortunate we are to be able to retire this young when the reality is most people cannot afford to do so. Also, most people do not have a significant KZbin income stream which greatly enables you and Renee to live the life you do (not all of us are blind to this fact). For most of us, the “grind” is how we have to live and pay the bills.

True they make good money with KZbin but Keith made millions in the oil industry, he is a brilliant mind and knew how to make big money and make investments. Some of us aren’t that smart, didn’t have advice or mentors and didn’t find opportunities to make big money so day to day it is 😏

My only advice to you two as someone in their 60s and fully retired is to stay fit. Keep your center core strong, and your mind positive. Eating right is real important as you age, with limited stress. I know worrying about your childrens decisions in life can be taxing at times, but enjoy yourself by slowing down and taking me time. ENJOY, and avoid the hurricanes. I'm off to Cancun myself in a few weeks.. Good luck on the Weight loss BIG GUY..😢

In 1981 I got stationed in Germany while serving in the US Air Force, I was surprised to see that Europeans drove on the right side of the road. You see a few James Bond movies growing up and you think all of Europe is going to be the same as the UK. It sure made things easier, all I really had to get used to was how much faster traffic moved... I could hardly pedal my Opel Ascona fast enough to drive on the autobahn. Side note for proud parents.... Jack's latest video was top shelf stuff, he did an outstanding job!!

I have found using a tiny sticker useful as a guide when changing from right hand drive to left hand drive and vice versa. When changing sides position the car comfortably close to the kerb as if driving then place a sticker on the windscreen where the centre line is. That sticker becomes a reference point until you get comfortable with your positioning in a lane. Doesn't help with figuring out roundabouts etc, but at least you know you are in the lane despite the change in perspective to driving position. This also helps when getting used to driving a vehicle that is imported from a country that drives on the opposite side of the road.

Hey Keith, great rant! You really got me thinking about what the heck am I doing with my life! While the familiarity of the grind can make you feel safe and comfortable its no way to live life. We don't need to be a slave to the grind, you just have to be brave enough to break out of the grind (self imposed prison) and get out there and start living!

It was a great boat show, as usual! Keith, as I age I found that good nutrition and some appropriate supplements make a world of difference !! Keep up the good work. Before I knew it, I lost much of the desire for sweets and excessive carbs. One big thing that helped me for years now, is I make a large shake with crisp vegetables, coconut water (or whatever one likes) organic protein powder, a little fruit for taste and whatever good things you like--flaxseed for example. I use the LARGE Ninja, so it lasts me 3 days, just give it a quick blend every time before pouring. It's no fun making one daily. Having it handy in the fridge for breakfast or an anytime means a healthy snack instead of grabbing processed food, bread, crackers, sweets (no!) etc. Note, I always put the fresh batch pitcher in the freezer for an hour after making it to get it to safe temperature otherwise it could take hours to get there in the fridge. This way it keeps fine for 3 days easy. Just my .02 one sailor to anudda.

Congratulations Keith. The traffic in Costa Rica gave me panic attacks. No street signs only landmarks. When you're @ a light & you're in the crosswalk, you're going to get run over. You're stopped @ the light & when it turns green everyone honks & goes. The motorcyclers go in between the cars up the lanes. Thank God for Xanax & good thing I brought my whole prescription because when I got back home I made an appointment with the doctor & he refilled those puppies for me after I explained everything to him. The doctor took his family there & when he got back to town he had to give his wife some Xanax too. So he totally understood my problem real well after he got back to town. We both was in bad shape after that trip.

Happy belated Birthday🎉🎂🎊🎈👏 Renee you look fabulous ❤ I got to see the video of jack I must say that you and Keith did a fantastic / Sensational on parenting all your lovely young children. They have awesome Morals values in epic working skills. Thank you always for sharing your life journey with all of us. It’s been a real joy for me watching how you raised the children and extremely on a yacht. I am definitely a very, very Proud mother of one son. He is a Chaplain in the Air Force and has been station in Italy for 4 yrs. I have 3 beautiful Grandchildren. The day you and Keith do become Grandparents just saying they truly are going to be blessed by the both of you. Enjoy Washington DC. There’s definitely a lot to see. It really touched my heart and soul when Keith mentioned get out there and enjoy and he is so right. My husband worked very hard and was planning on retiring and do the world but God had a different plain he went on a guy trip to go turkey hunting and the next morning the guys found him gone. Happily married for 38 yrs. It’s been 6years now and it don’t get easy you just learn to except a new !! Stay safe and hope to see a new video soon.Cindy🇺🇸
