The ranch is the perfect place to settle. Open fresh air, can live off the land and hunt if you need to. Less people. It’s perfect

oh em gee... haha I cant believe i'm on episode 200 something and didn't realize I hadn't subscribed to your channel! 😂I absolutely LOVE you guys, and kinda got my husband onboard watching with me too! I lived on a sailboat for 7 years when I was younger. only did one ocean crossing from CA to hawaii. Keith, I think it must be our generation... im just a little older than you, but I can't believe what is going on in this world. I am with you on a man is a man and a woman is a woman. that is how God made us. no judgement from me! I love your family and your kiddos, and kudos to you and Renee for saving when you were younger so you could enjoy this lifestyle! you crack me up. lol you are all amazing people! We love the Whitakers! I need to get some merch!!! ... in the future, I am an RN, so if you are looking for future crew, haha, I am married a mother of 3 adult children, im 55 years old and would join ya'll in a heartbeat!! my husband is a photojournalist for 40 years and im sure we could put together a fun video! (like one of the kids you brought onboard!) im not to that episode yet! Prayers for safety to you and your family always! 🙏🙏💙💙 Stefani

That was a great time to practice a man overboard drill. it would have been in valuable lesson for the kids. Walking around so carefree in that kind of weather. On the back of the boat. Unbelievable. And the sun was low on the horizon behind the boat. Toss a big orange buoy ball in the water and then try to find it. Incredibly difficult. Now imagine your kid falling off the back of the boat. No life preserver. No orange clothing. He would be invisible. The lack of common sense is astounding.

No life jackets on. No PLBs on. No Ditch bags Ready. "Escape hatch" instead of hull integrity. Things happen FAST at sea. People disappear, when the rest of the crew have their back turned. Not a sound to be heard. Just gone.- Rescue/survival chances increased 90% with a little planning, training, and a few dollars (about $1k per crew member . . . IF they are worth it. Ditch bags - matched to crew: PLB + AIS, VHF, GPS, Radar Reflector,Extra Batteries, Flares, Smoke, Mirror, Sea Dye, Strobe, Rescue Streamer, Glowsticks, Water, Dive Knife, 100ft. 1/4 line, Caribiners, Small sea anchor, Hat, Sunglasses, Sunscreen, Extra lifejacket + xtra CO2, Wet suit/booties/gloves/hood to surpass water temp, goggles, snorkel, collapsed spear, Fishing line, hooks, lure, sinkers. First Aid - w/silvadane for burns, splint, stitching needles & hydrocortisone/glucogon/epinephrine injections etc. + medicine specific to individuals, prescription lenses. Packet with cash, credit card, ID copy, medical info, insurance papers, float plan copy, spare cell phone. Flashlight (did I say extra batteries - try to match elec. devises to use same battery type. Space blanket. Energy bars. Suggested: A small waterproof camera, extra batteries. Waterproof Bible. Yes, this is the ditch bag for 1 Crew member. Each crew member needs ALL of these items to increase their chances of surviving/being rescued as MOB situations OFTEN isolate crew. (Life raft list includes the same items & more.) Ditch bag/case must FLOAT - also serves as as secondary pfd. BRIGHT Orange/yellow with reflective tape. Stowed within EASY reach/release for each crew station. Vessel name, crew names, emergency numbers on it. On the boat, your Satellite phone should have an ID and cash case to always be one you. Inflatable PFD and PLB should be worn at all times. All times. Most of the deaths, and we don't hear about them, are MOBs in normal conditions. Do MOB drills. Give guests basic safety and boating lessons. (People have been lost due to not knowing about a kill switch, neutral, or how to drop/raise an anchor). Safety checklist the entire boat. Diagram all thru hulls, posted throughout. Place size matched plugs by each thru hull. Or don't - save a few bucks, as long as you, the captain, have informed every one that they are expendible.
