Originally, I had thought that I liked the floating shelves look best. But listening to your thinking process and your reason for your choices. It started making really good sense especially with that top crown molding and I agreed. Oh my gosh she’s so right. Well yesterday I saw the completed look and oh yeah girl. I'd say bookcase look is better than floating shelves. When I saw the makeover I felt like something was missing with the floating shelves + floating shelves give a more modern vibe which I don't think looks very complementary to the fireplace setup. I vote for built-in bookshelf.

Wow, do you ever work hard!!!! You and Romeo are both amazing. I still get moved every time I see your kitchen windows.🥰🥰. They are phenomenal, and the fact that you designed them created them repurposed is much as you could with them until you ran out of stuff. I didn’t word that very well lol. How much unique elements you put into those windows. And how hard you worked to get the right color and stain combo to get the results that you wanted and to follow through the house. I never seen anything like them before and wow.

Also, I really hope that you do look into a technique. I posted after your video yesterday about the clear wax and then the black wax to get that look on your vintage fireplace. I guarantee you it will give you what you’re looking for and a lot easier to and at the same time you’re protecting your fireplace mantle Again Kacha is an excellent source for this technique and how to use. Her channel is just her name and she is amazing. Videos she’s done up to recently are the ones that are going to give you the best information on this technique. Over this last year especially last several months her information instructions, etc. are not as in-depth how to. And I think that’s because for two years at least she really took us through it and I think she feels like she’s got other things to share with us now. I really hope you look into this the clear wax and then the black wax. I just want it to be everything you imagine it to be. Believe me, you know a lot more about renovations and DIY projects. I think this is something you could really utilize with future DIY’s too.

I just have one little but important suggestion. Please make yourself a push stick or push block. It’s a safer method for pushing narrow pieces of wood through your router or table saw. I hold my breath every time I see you push wood through with your hands 😅
