Would love to see how you do narration and notebooking!

This is so inspiring! I'm in the process of writing our own curriculum as a 4 yr cycle that fits us. We've tried a few different things and after 6 yrs of not quite hitting the mark I decided if others build their own, I can too :)

I wish I had some blank templates of what you’re doing. You’ve made it look so easy (which I know it isn’t!) 🥰

I love hearing your thought process and seeing how other CM moms play out the feast to best suit their children! Could you share your resource for Swedish drill?

I have 6 students ages - 12th grade down to kindergarten. I have taken a different approach to our time table this year as well. Used the CMEC last year but not this year.

Hey America! Love seeing this. What resource are you using for folk dancing? So fun :) Excited to hear how Schole goes this year. Hoping to do that next year!
@AHeartForHomeEducation5 ай бұрын
KZbin has some folk dancing resources, and i believe AO gives recommendations for that. I believe Miss Mason's Music has some folk dancing, and I plan to subscribe to that. Thank you for watching and for the encouragement! 🧡

Looks great!! I'm in the middle of figuring out our schedule and how to fit everything in without making myself crazy lol. I also have an 8 year old who will turn 9 at the end of the year, but mine will start 4th grade because of our state's laws. We have strict homeschool laws and I have to get all of my chosen curricula approved by the state, as well as submit quarterly and year end reports. I think I remember you saying you're in west Virginia. How are the homeschooling laws there?
@AHeartForHomeEducation5 ай бұрын
It's a lot to figure out! I'm in Michigan - there's no laws or regulations at all here for homeschooling, thankfully (though that may change soon). That must be hard to try to fit everything into the "state's box"

@@AHeartForHomeEducation ohh ok, Michigan. Wow, what a dream to not have to answer to any bureaucrats!! It's really not that bad. I think you'd have to have a pretty lax plan for them to reject it. I tend to go above and beyond, and my husband always tells me that if I think anyone is actually scrutinizing it, I'm dreaming lol

So just to clarify for myself, you aren’t adding 20 minutes to every subject, you just kind of add in a little extra time here and there? Like the liturgy block being 15-20 min subjects seems like it would take us well over an hour with narration and dancing as part of it
@AHeartForHomeEducation5 ай бұрын
Correct - not adding 20 min to the "subject", but just to the timeblock allotted to each time block. So the goal is a 20 min math lesson for each child, and then there's an extra 20 minutes of no particular lessons scheduled, in case we have interruptions, or we need more time for the math lesson (finshing up a problem or two or something!). And the liturgy block - some of those we are reading for 5 min. Not everything listed on that family subject block is 20 minutes. It will probably be: 5 min on poetry + fable, 10 on liturgy, 20 on literature, and 20 on history.
@Hookhamhomestead5 ай бұрын
@@AHeartForHomeEducation so if I read your schedule correct that section goes 60 minutes and ends in drill or dance. So you have 55 minutes laid out and then still squeeze the last of dance/drill in 5 min? Or does drill kind of spill into the break time a little bit and isn’t really apart of that hour time block?

I cannot wait to hear about your liturgy of lessons! I really had a vision of building my own curriculum choices for our homeschool and I’m learning so much from you this is so much like what I want to do. Thank you for sharing!
