I watched all of Bleach up until TTYBW I never cried for Ichigo. I essentially said "That's awesome" or "Relatable" about whatever he was doing. I never felt as though he was struggling, he'd put effort in but he was just automatically great at everything & Noone else had every ability in the show. I still enjoy him, his friends, his story, I just wasn't as invested emotionally as which a Deku & MHA as a whole...

The story beats they tend to focus on is far more poetic and naunced Bleach usually focuses on somber, melodramatic and nihilistic story beats most of the time. I view Ichigo from a different perspective than a “typical shonen protagonist” Ichigo is written beautifully the parallels between him, Yhwach and Aizen. Bleach is very poetic, and utilizes foreshadowing and hidden nuances a lot of which goes over peoples heads. Take the relationship with Ichigo and his mom for example. Because of her he strives to protect others which is his main long term goal but because of her death he also blames himself which is part of his struggle throughout bleach. Now we have Aizen who created him which is why Ichigo can’t realize his full potential and constantly doubts himself his self discovery journey and then we have Yhwach who is the reason Ichigos mother died he is the cause of his despair and reason for his motivation through out the series Ichigo's character arc in Bleach is complex and intriguing, as he undergoes self-discovery, accepts his true identity, and balances his different roles and responsibilities while protecting his loved ones, ultimately leading to his positive change and the theme of acceptance of death. 
Contrary to popular belief, the final arc of Bleach provides significant revelations about Ichigo's powers, abilities, and the true reasoning behind his mother's death, making him a complex and intriguing protagonist.

The balance between character and plot is crucial in creating an impactful story, as both elements need to exist synergistically.

Yes hello, I'm one of the people who have watched the entirety of the pokémon anime. Easily some of the best shows I've ever watched. It's actually really funny you used "Sun and Moon goes hard" as an example cuz it really does 😂. While I love all the pokemon series (except XY it's just ok), Sun and Moon easily stands above the rest. It's got the best writing and characters with a gorgeous artstyle and some of the greatest animation. It's my 2nd or 3rd favorite series I've read/watched.

Most manga come from light novels. I might be wrong but from what I’ve seen light novels are basically officially published webnovels with some story and plot tweaks. the most popular light novels get adapted into manga and of course the most popular manga get anime. The best example would by the slime anime it was originally a webnovel that is finished, an now the author is currently rewriting it as a light novel and the manga is getting adapted from the light novel which the anime is adapting.

The best political anime is probably the original Mobile Suit Gundam or Dougram I’ve seen, but I heard that Legend of the Galactic Heroes is better. And speaking of light novels, they have pictures that remind you that you are reading an anime novel and what the characters look like. Apparently a lot of them are really good, but the translations can be hit or miss. I haven’t personally read any, but I might check them out eventually

I will say my beef with this season of bleach is that unlike other seasons when the lieutenants and captains get fucked up they still win at the end but this season it’s nothing but the captains getting their faces stomped in over and over and over “oh hey they are win… no they are getting stomped again…”

[raises hand] i kept up with the pokemon anime! and you genuinely dont know the hornets nest you just poked by randomly saying the Sun and Moon anime went crazy lmao (the character designs and art style changed during SM to allow for more expressive characters and smoother animation and people could NOT GET OVER IT. the battles and overall animation were some of the best looking animation the show had ever seen and the storylines were the most nuanced and emotional of the series by far. but fans refused to hop off the XY anime's dick for even a moment to give SM its dues because they were mad that Ash looked younger and they lost their precious 3D camera in battle sequences. the fandom truly still is at war to this day about the SM anime.)

and as a Pokemon fan Ash is B verging in C tier, and I say that extremely lovingly. but considering the floating timeline he doesnt get the chance to mature, at least not noticeably. we see him become a more competent trainer, obviously, but even then his battle style remains the same erratic, reaction-based style he's always had. there are only a handful of arcs in the 1200+ episode run of Pokémon where he goes through actual on-screen, intentional development (shoutout to the GOAT gen, DP)

I wont lie, i havent seen "you" the show about the stalker, but the way they have him narrate as he is going about stuff, i think that type of style would work so well with death note. I think it'd be both great and hilarious

I’m not gonna say goku is an amazing protagonist or anything but your alls reason being that he doesn’t grow as a character 1. Factually wrong 2. He has a positive flat character arc, that means him growing emotionally or socially isn’t the point (he does still change it’s just never the focus). The point is how he changes other people around him for the better (vegeta most notably). I’d put goku A tier probably

Goku being a character most people watching don't understand while he is decently complex, essential to the story, & having things he learns stick with while making up for his mistakes is awesome. He's one of my Top 3 MC's in all of fiction. Also him not being somebody's favorite in a show full of amazing characters makes sense. In the same way that's the case with a lot of media, it doesn't make them not good...
