You can really see the bits that Austin Powers was directly spoofing. A real "aha" moment.

I laughed out loud so many times this episode. “I’ve got a sudden craving for, uh… bouillabaisse,” “he clears out the bar in this kind of racist way,” “wait, not the mirror world!” “To Gila!” “Oh, Yoko Ono…” “we’re gonna Bilbo Baggins this thing, ladies!” “I am now ranking sister bride!”

I guess Austin Powers spoofed this movie more than James Bond's films.

The 2 Flint moves were spoofs of the Bond movies. Same as Dean Martin's Matt Helm series. Both the Flint movies and Helm movies were very non-serious movies.

Thats bs, your cold opens and "seen it" after the movie is great. Keep it up, its an essential part of this series. Never thought all those years back that there was something on this channel for me besides Chad Vader. Love the show. 👍

The reason James Coburn was able to do his fight scenes was he studied under Bruce Lee during the 1960s.

In James Coburn’s autobiography, he called Our Man Flint his personal favorite. The sequel, he said, suffered from serious production problems and executive meddling, which resulted in a lukewarm movie that left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth. Coburn attempted to revive Flint as a television series with Harlan Ellison in the early 1970s, but the studios passed because of potential costs and the fact that the series was going to be serialized instead of episodic (making it far more difficult to sell in syndication).

James Coburn is cool, but such a strange actor. I've never seen him give a normal performance. He's fantastic in The Magnificent Seven, The Great Escape, Duck You Sucker, The Last of Sheila, & Hudson Hawke.

I loved watching this movie as a kid. This, _In like Flint_ , and _The President's Analyst_ where all Coburn classics. Also, there's a radical electric guitar riff in the ending sequence of this movie, when Flint is climbing the gantries.

Matt is right that Weird was based on a funny or die sketch, written by the same people who did the movie and covering many of the same areas. Personally, I loved it, it’s up there with rock hard as the best comedy musical biopic. (Hairspray is the best because it’s just a much better musical with dancing colors and sentiment that the parodies don’t match.)
