Roses are one of the things that bring a smile the most, and bring comfort and optimism with their bright colors and pleasant scent. When we give someone roses, this indicates their place in our hearts and the extent of their importance. Roses always indicate good taste when choosing them as a gift for those we love.

Beautiful! Do bulbs in pots truly need no watering when they are dormant?
@ApplePeaFernSea9 ай бұрын
@@SMElder-iy6fl Thank you so much. Regarding your watering question, It will depend to some extent on your location and climate, and also whether pots are stored in sun or shade (or drying wind). Here, we don’t actively water the small ‘stashed-away’ pots hidden on the ground in the shade of shrub foliage over summer, with the exception of weather extremes like the July ’22 drought. A gravel/grit mulch is advisable to retain moisture. The RHS advises reducing watering when dormant, other experts advise allowing the soil to dry out slightly. Sending best wishes for happy gardening.

What a beautiful garden! I love early spring flowers as much as you seem to do. But sometimes there are bulbs that won't bloom again. What would you suggest to do : throw them away or save and try again?
@ApplePeaFernSea9 ай бұрын
Thank you for your appreciative message Anna. If your bulbs are narcissi or crocus, these are mainly reliably perennial (if foliage is left to die back naturally), where as tulips (especially in containers) can be disappointing or even absent in the second year, due to pests, disease or performance fatigue. If you have space to plant poorly-performing container bulbs elsewhere in yours or a friend’s garden, sometimes they will reward you with more flowers in following years. The RHS compiled a list of the most reliably perennial tulips that should look good for years to come so, if of interest, please find the link to follow. In our container garden, we find tulipa sylvestris the most reliable of all perennials (six springs in bloom so far). Wishing you happy spring gardening. www.rhs.org.uk/plants/tulip/longer-lasting

Your content is top quality! I love spring bulbs! It's difficult to find good videos of certain kinds of plants that shows their growth habit and how they look in actual displays. Have you ever attempted naturalising spring bulbs into your lawn to make a meadow?
@ApplePeaFernSea9 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! A spring bulb meadow would be delightful and is definitely something to consider for future planting.

I was eagerly awaiting this spring video. Your garden is lovely. I also very much appreciate your practical tips for storing ,reusing or layering pots to extend the display season. How long has it taken you to establish your garden? Do you do all of the garden chores yourselves. I feel that every time I watch, I discover a new garden gem that you have created. Well done !
@ApplePeaFernSea9 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for sharing your anticipation and enjoyment with us, Donna. The garden is all our own work, we began creating it from a bare patch of ground over 20 years ago, including laying the brick paths and building raised beds. We enjoy the challenges and rewards as the space evolves with every year, there are always surprises. Sending our best wishes.

Gorgeous container garden, love all your beauties 😊😊😊! I also love the narrative and music, thanks very much for sharing. Your plants in their pots look very healthy and no sign of slug damage! Do you change the compost every year? How do you combat the slug and snails?
@ApplePeaFernSea9 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your lovely message. We replenish compost for larger shrubs in containers, but not the smaller spring plants unless, for example, potting on the anemones into a larger container. Your question about slugs and snails is very timely, as after one of the wettest Februarys on record here we also have an explosion of slugs and snails. Our emerging iris leaves have now been shredded to ribbons! So, I have been popping out in the evening with a torch to catch and remove iris offenders. I was delighted to discover a ‘secret weapon’ just yesterday: a newt in the patio container display, obviously drawn there to eat slugs! Sending best wishes for happy spring gardening.

Thanks a million, so beautiful….love your bulb theatre, thanks for your tips for a small garden did what you sad and later on I will use the pots like small tables😊did you know you can sow the snake bulbs…they love a bit of shade and damp to spread like carpets😊
@ApplePeaFernSea9 ай бұрын
Thank you so much, Annette. We will definitely try sowing seed from the snake’s head fritillary, it would be thrilling to have a carpet in the grass. Our very damp ground may not be free-draining enough for their needs but we won’t know till we try! Sending best wishes.

@@ApplePeaFernSea don’t think drainage is a problem, they have a nice storie here in sweden that Mr Linne’ mistoke theme for big lillies( or one of is employed) so they throw the bulbs in the woods and now when they naturalise everyone love theme👩🏻🌾
