Glad to hear you’ve coming back home! Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling oh sinner come home!! I have HRM cousin who is a very nice guy but his HRM stuff is so condescending and condemning!!

I am so glad your husband saw it and didn't go along with it. I was in that for years and had a veil over my face. I came out of it, my wife, son, and daughter-in-law are still in it, and I am the last person they will listen to. Could you all pray for them to see it, God bless you all!

@@JustOneStitch Thank you, I can only ask my Christian brothers and sisters for help in this. I tried everything I can think of as far as pointing out the new covenant we are now under, and that we are no longer under the old covenant. I was like that too. I was led to salvation through grace alone by reading Romans - Hebrews. over and over. This is miserable in so many ways. No way would I ever go back to that bondage without hope. I knew I had no hope there because I know I am full of sin even on my best days.

I commend you both for your testimony as a married couple being delivered from Hebrew Roots/Torah Observance. As someone who was in the movement for about four years, I can relate to the contempt that exists for the Christian church and Christianity in general that the movement cultivates, and it’s easy for an individual to take such a stance unknowingly, until a loved one points to it.

I enjoyed both parts very much 🙂 I really love the name of your channel it dawned on me when I listened to the interview you had with R. L Solberg, I really enjoyed that conversation also. I have watched a couple of channels that I really enjoyed at the time pertaining to Hebrew roots and it did start to confuse me, I thank our Lord that I didn’t go any further into it. God bless you and your family.

Thank You for sharing your testimony. My Wife and I are going through this right now. I believe that we are not bound by the mosaic law. I believe that the law of Moses was brought to completion or fulfillment when he died on the cross and rose again. The HRM is very sneaky in their teaching. In my home it feels like these beliefs just snuck in like a serpent. I remember the first time I started to realize that my Wife was following these mosaic requirements when I went to the grocery store to buy steaks for a gathering we were having with our kids on Friday. I went to the store before sundown and grilled the steaks. However in the process of grilling the steaks the sun went down so my wife could not eat her steak. Seems trivial but to me it was like a dagger through the heart. Anyhow, please pray for me and my Wife.

Hi @barretod21. Yes, I will pray now and over you both each morning. You said it well: "these beliefs just snuck in like a serpent." That is exactly how it happened for me. By the time my faithful friends tried to warn me, I already wouldn't listen and though it was all very innocent and that they were overreacting. They saw right away what I couldn't see. I'm praying for the Holy Spirit to guide you each day in loving your wife through this whatever that looks like Biblically for the two of you and your situation.

“Only, as the Lord has assigned to each one, as God has called each, in this manner let him walk. And so I direct in all the churches. Was any man called when he was already circumcised? He is not to become uncircumcised. Has anyone been called in uncircumcision? He is not to be circumcised. Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but what matters is the keeping of the commandments of God. Each man must remain in that condition in which he was called. Were you called while a slave? Do not worry about it; but if you are able also to become free, rather do that. For he who was called in the Lord while a slave, is the Lord’s freedman; likewise he who was called while free, is Christ’s slave. You were bought with a price; do not become slaves of men. Brethren, each one is to remain with God in that condition in which he was called.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭7‬:‭17‬-‭24‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

I think its really important to highlight that not all Torah Observant people or churches are the same. I am fully convinced of the application of Torah in the lives of all beleivers in christ, but i watch videos like this to help me understand the offenses people have from TO. We ought not have contempt for the mainstream church, TO, or even orthodox Jews. The truth is that all people in these group are either a native branch or a grafted wild branch, therfore we ought not become prideful and despise each other. When Jesus/Yeshua our messiah returns we will all fully know truth and im certain each of us will be corrected in some ways. I pray that as long as it is within our ability to live at peace with each other according to our instruction in the word

Hi Matt! I agree with you, absolutely that Torah observance has a wide range of beliefs and people, and treating one another with gentleness and respect is what we are called to...even our enemies so far as possible. Thank you for posting.

Becoming a Hebrew roots believer has been the greatest decision I’ve ever made. I took on Shabbat, dietary laws (to my best ability), feasts of the Adonai, etc. Law produces peace and discipline, it is for the mature. All through grace. Shalom and blessings.

I'm not sure what "cultural relevance" is in terms of a church setting? I mean, what should one look out for/be wary of?

Off the top of my head, I know I am personally looking for an exogetical and expository teaching of God's word. I am looking for a body of believers, who when a new person walks in, greets and loves on them. And, I'm looking for the pastor of assitance pastor to be reachable and approachable. A pastor cannot know his flock if they can't know him.
@JustOneStitch
@JustOneStitch 8 ай бұрын
I also am looking for the stated belief of our Triune God in One, that salvation come by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, and a Biblical understanding of the New Covenant in their mission statement.
@kimartist

@@JustOneStitch Yes you both stated several times that an emphasis on "cultural relevance" was the reason you left the first church & started the home group. I have no idea what that means, but do know "weirdness" when I hear it from the pulpit. Like a church I visited where the pastor's entire "sermon" was about the local city council's politics & how he thought a "Christian" should be voting & involved in local politics & even gloated how he planned to make his congregation into a formidable voting block - nothing spiritual, nothing that Jesus said to "feed my sheep" with was ever mentioned. I suppose this could be "culturally relevant"? Anyway, I don't mind a pastor keeping an eye on the times (re: Matthew 24, Revelation, etc.), but I don't think petty local politics & infighting was what Jesus had in mind. Also the "woke" stuff creeping into churches - yikes. Preaching what's actually in the Bible & providing a setting for actual fellowship (i e. socializing & making friendships amongst believers) is what most people want & need from the body of Christ.
@JustOneStitch

Thank you! Yes, we were referring to the church being involved in political issues beyond Scripture (in our opinion) and we wanted to hear the word of God preached and focus on how to love others from a Biblical perspective rather than what side of an issue we should take and which way we should consider Biblical with things that are a matter of conscience.

Remember, there were many nations surrounding Israel during the giving of the covenant on Mt. Sinai. The covenant was ONLY for Israel and those who wanted to be Israel. Exodus 24:7-8 after reading the covenant to the people they said, “all that Yahuah said we will do and obey.” BOOM! Locked in! Do what he said and be blessed or abhor his stuff and be CURSED! 😳 wow! Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28 and the song of Moses (mentioned in Revelation) Deuteronomy 32 is loaded with curses against those who casually disregard Yahuah and his Torah. Again, it is only for those who wanted to be Israel! 2 Kings 17 shows that the people who replaced Ephraim in the Northern Kingdom feared Yahuah but served their other gods too. Deception is an interesting thing. I do concede that some Torah Observant people can be harsh and try and become Jewish…they forget that there are 12 tribes not just Judah! I do NOT consider myself Hebrew Roots although it is rooted in that concept not the “movement “…I just love Yahuah’s words and how Yahusha is literally in the Hebrew Alef-Beit from Alef to Tav. To learn Hebrew and the Torah is not to adopt Jewish Halikah or Talmudic adherence. The mission is for me, what did he say? When Yahusha said, “I only come for the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel” (Matthew 15:24) I think that means what Yahusha had to offer is for Israel and those who want to be Israel. However, caution is necessary because once you say everything Yahuah said we will do and obey…BAM! You to are locked in! Deuteronomy 29:14-15 it was not just for that moment in time at Mt. Sinai it was for those that day and the one who returns in the future. I commend your husband for saying, that he didn’t sign up for the covenant of Israel. 38:30

The Law of Moses is a wonderful way to express Jewish love for God. It is not for gentiles unless they go through the proper path of a Jewish proselyte under the auspices of the congregation of Israel. It was given to the children of Israel. It belongs to them uniquely. Hebrew roots is cultural and identity appropriation. It's just not right.
