Fascinating video, and I particularly appreciate the warning for sensitive viewers. I had never seen that before, but it does help so please don't hesitate to do it each time something nasty is coming up in your future videos, too. The drums punctuation is hilarious. Your videos are really instructive and fun at the same time. Also, last but not least, I totally agree with your conclusion and I have thought so and lived and explored the world in that exact frame of mind my whole life!

As someone from south east asia, we know from long ago that Brunei people got many benefits from their goverment such as free education, free healthcare and financial benefit. That's defenitly what every citizen want from their goverment. And with all the benefits, they choose to have life simple and still preserve malay culture and their nature. And you do know the nature still good when you can see bekantan in the wild like that.

As controversial policies in Brunei are, isn't it the same as some islamic countries in the Middle East like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, etc? (That you guys, AND many westerners have visited) I mean you have a point about Brunei having ultra conservative policies, but the tone of this video since the beginning made it look like Brunei is the first conservative country you guys ever visited. Is it possibly because Brunei being a South-East Asia nation, made it seems to be almost 'abnormal' for it to be this conservative in comparison to its more liberal neighbors. Unlike if it's an Arab nation. Just a thought..

What the guy said about Islam in Brunei is different is absolutely true. Islam in Brunei has been practiced in a different way by the Sultan so that the loyalty of the people of Brunei towards this new type of religion is always obeyed which is the Melayu Islam Beraja and abbreviated as MIB. If Brunei is truly under Ahli Sunnah Waljamaah sect, and a country that follows Syariah Law, you will not see women exposing their faces and palms on the streets in Brunei. According to Imam Syafie, a woman should not reveal her face and palms whether there is danger of defamation or not.

I really appreciate your video about my country- Brunei. It was really well videographed 😎 But could you please not compare us to North Korea? We are far from a mini version of that country. As clearly outlined in your video content, our country is a free & welcoming place. Nothing comparable to the unfortunate circumstances faced by those in North Korea, in which we offer our prayers of support to. 😢 Furthermore, to answer your question to excellent driver Faizal during your taxi journey. Is there freedom of religion in Brunei? Definitely my friends! We have about 3 main big catholic churches in Seria, KB and Bandar- and even a Cardinal that sadly passed away recently. We also have a big main buddhist temple in Bandar, one in KB and a hindu temple in Seria often attended to by the hindu community & the Ghurka soldiers who are employed under the British Armed Forces that protects Brunei’s border under our treaty agreement. All this land was given generously by the Sultan for everyone to feel welcome in Brunei and to practice their faith comfortably. What you see in the media is completely distorted. It’s quite sad as I left Brunei to study overseas to Australia and was faced with these same questions which puzzled me as it’s farrrr from what is depicted online. Upon returning home, the economy had even improved and I’m so proud of Bruneis progress. Happy to clear up more misinformation if you need 🙏🏼☺️ Take care & a safe journey from us to you! 🇧🇳

Hello! As a bruneian, Some people in my class says that they are "gay" Which is okay if they are just saying it for a joke, but when they take it seriously is a next level, Every year, The Sultan gave 1000 dollars to the people who got lucky and happens to be having no dad ( It is called "Anak Yatim" ) And not gonna lie, I do like living in Brunei it is a very beautiful country, And I have learned that Brunei has a surprisingly History *Takes out a social studies textbook* How was the kingdom of brunei founded? Thousands of years ago, people travelled by sea and sailed to Borneo on canoes and rafts. They brought with them new kinds if food, tools weapons and skills such as pottery and weaving These people settled in Borneo and lived in villages. Then, they built the first kingdom in Borneo. Some of the settlerd lived near the mouth of the Brunei River and built an ancient kindom. This kingdom had many names given to it by people from different parts of the world. A chinese called Brunei Po'li or Po'ni. A Javanese trader called Brunei Buruneng. A arabic trader called Brunei Sribuza 10 likes = part 2

Wow, I never visited the "rich neighbor" Brunei, but as Indonesian I see a lot similarity. The food, the animal (monitor lizard also common in Indonesia). So I guess this what happen if my country wealthy enough to preserve the rain forest, not as the main haze producer to our neighbor. 😂

Very good video. Getting a tour from agency is worth it as you only are there for 2 days. Would have been an added bonus opportunity if your trip coincide with an opportunity to see the sultan himself driving out of his palace. He keep a look out as he drives by and will wave back to anyone who waves at him.

As a Bruneian, this is the kindest vid of ppl visiting Brunei. Edit after a year: Okay, so like, after rewatching this video, I've just realized the disrespectful tone. Y'all make it seem like brunei is the most conservative country in the world?? Brunei's laws are just the same as most of the other islamic countries.

Hey Boys! One more to go!!! I have agree with you the people are absolutely lovely, I've also had the honour of meeting the Sultan & his 2nd wife. The company I was working for designed some of those buildings you were looking at and I was responsible fir inypterior augmentation. We designed jewellery cases for his 2nd wives dressing room! And an amazing bed with all the hangings and covered all made by hand that cost around 1.5million $American! This was in the 90sand start of 2000s. The siteseeong was spectacular, the weather was monsoon and again the people were charming. I'm glad you put the caveat at the beginning, but, its how you've been seeing many of ghe countries on your list. And TBH you say more with out saying anything, you'd both be excellent diplomats. Very best wishes to both of you&yours, not sure if there'll be another before Christmas, so just in case,I'll take this opportunity to wish you both a Wonderful Christmas and Fabulous New Year "Around the World"💥👊❤💯👏👏👏💙💙👌💯👋⭐'s💯🎄🎇🥂
