you don’t need loctite on the wheel stud splines, it does nothing. nice job!
@johngruessing70422 жыл бұрын
Lol I think you are so lucky that you didn't blow the wheel cylinders out I don't know how they didn't, anyway good job on cj you will have some great times that are priceless peace out

I searched how to finish a cotter pin. I found you cut one of the pins just longer than the hole. And then you bend the other. But cut the other so it's not too long. This looks clean, easy to remove and always keeps the nut secure.
@NickDowner2 жыл бұрын
Ooo thanks haha mine look terrible for sure. I'll go back and finish them out :)

Didn't see you do it but make sure you put loctite on the lug nuts holding those spacers on. Then torque to spec. Make sure you recheck them after about 500 miles and then every tire rotation after that. Moving along here. Got my axles torn down. Housings are out getting sand blasted then will rebuld and repaint them. Rebuilt my T176 and awaiting the rebuild kit for my Dana 300 so I can rebuild that.
@NickDowner2 жыл бұрын
Ohh good call! Will do. I gotta make sure those are tight! Wow sounds like your project is coming along well too! Let me know how the dana300 rebuild works out. Do you have a press?
@millstonejeepworx2 жыл бұрын
@Nick Downer Yes. I have a press and it is needed for the Dana 300. I actually used it on my T176. Got the rear bearing on by heating it. The front one only halfway. Stood it up in the press and sent it home the rest of the way.

Brother check those wheel studs are long enough to make it all the way through the lugs nuts that are holding that wheel spacer on. Hate to see you lose a wheel over that
@NickDowner2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, all clear on the rears! But definitely not in the front. I need to track down some longer studs for sure. Thanks for watching Cirezane!

Awesome job, Nick. Keep up the good work. I have an 81 CJ7 myself and am looking for an engine for it. I would like to have the same engine you have, but they're either hard to find or expensive.
@NickDowner2 жыл бұрын
Oh that’s awesome! Yeah I’ve heard the straight six is a great engine….. Have you figured out what transmission and transfer case you want?
@javiermendoza40062 жыл бұрын
Well, I have the original transfer case, but not the transmission; I will need to figure that out, too.

Lookin good Nick! Quick question, would you consider showing the routing of the parking brake? I think on my 79 it was missing and I want to make sure I buy all the pieces needed!
@NickDowner2 жыл бұрын
Sure thing! Will do! Thanks for watching Richard!

It’s brake drum and clean the shoes before put the drum on, your greasy fingerprints will not add stopping power.
@NickDowner2 жыл бұрын
Good call! Next time I have that drum off I'll hit it with some brake clean.... I may install a brake replacement kit too. Thanks for watching Richard!
