Loved your content today, and I sure could relate! I ended contact with the naysayers in my life, including family. Some people don't want to see you win and will project their fears about change and growth onto you. Or they will attempt to make you feel guilty for leaving an aging parent or adult children behind. At the end of the day, we have one life to live. As a black American if you're not following the family blueprint or if you're not heavily enmeshed in your relatives lives then you're selfish. I'm in my selfish era and proud of it.

It is hard with aging parents .I am facing some of these issues and i It's harder when your parents think they are still capable of handling their affairs, but their behavior tells you something different. 😢Sending you all live and support.I tried to make plans and my mother resists all my efforts. She wants to do it her way. 💜✌🏾&🙏🏾

I truly believe there is a market opportunity for people in North America retiring abroad - with their parents. Home healthcare for expats or retirement homes for people who want to move abroad but not leave their parents.....Or cohousing communities..... I was trying to convince my neighbor in Switzerland ( from Maine) that her mother could have a magical life abroad with round the clock care in so many places in Europe - or Africa (not the usual suspects - places like Namibia, Botswana, Georgia, Malta, etc). Most of this stuff is mindset! Moving from DC to NYC could cost less than moving from DC to Coimbra under the right set of circumstances. You have a lovely smile by the way sis! Glad to see your channel grow - watched it since Queretaro (which seems like eons ago ha).

At 67yrs young i can say that in order to be the best at what you do in life,You have to become selfish.For example Michael Jordan he stated that he had to become selfish in order to be the best,But many people including family members didn't understand that.But i say that's their problem because if you want to become the best engineer or scientist you'll have to study more than the average person and you won't have time for parties,Stay focused on becoming the best and be selfish about it.😊

And I never he never are you a good rental rental company and let them be the manager of your rental properties. And some rental property the maintenance crew that can maintain the property. And yes there is a fee ..

But folks have to know their own limits. 😉 Unfortunately, family is no longer welcome to rent our homes - other family members have destroyed that possibility. 😆 We will get top dollar for our condo to make up for the losses caused by family members. Until you get the other documents in line, have your parents add you to their account. If something were to happen to your parents, the only way to get access their account, is by something called. POD paid on death, it only takes your signature to a document.

My Sis-Star friends brother died. She has 3 other siblings but she was the only one who could afford to pay the lawyer. Please put your finances in order & help your parents to put theirs in order. If you don’t, someone will need to hire a lawyer. If not all assets will be lost.

Q. Both my parents have Alzheimer’s. My brother and I are managing the best we can. We as a family are planning to move from San Jose CA to Elk Grove, CA. I think your idea of having a 2 bedroom townhouse is very smart with a caregiver. Is it possible to set up a phone call with you. We are now in the process of signing Certificate of Disability through their Living Trust. We are navigating to pay off their Reverse Mortgage and sell their house but we are worried about the capital gains tax. Please advise.
