We have Muscovy ducks. Bobcats love ducks. I made an 8’x8’ raft that I anchored in the middle of the pond and that is where they roost. They eat all the grasshoppers and June Bugs so that broke the life cycle of the grub worms. As a result we have very few golfers. Good video Micah.

I understand that! I wish meat could be made without killing, but the world is not set up that way yet, I don’t think things will have to die in order to provide food in heaven!

A few years ago I set up a mosquito trap ( uv light with a fan that sucks them into the base) near the corn patch . The moths that lay the eggs on the corn silk all ended up in the trap . 5 wheel barrels of sweet corn cobs and not one worm . It was the best accidental gardening discovery I have made so far lol . 😎👍

That's really awesome that the ducks take care of the pest pressure ! What kind of ducks are they ? I bet you don't have to feed the ducks very much since they get bugs and weeds to eat . Thanks for sharing and have a blessed day !

cool video again. but we don't have a fence so no dog. (not to mention two of us are allergic as well). man we been doin research on gardenin for 6 years and have NEVER heard of anyone using ducks. the wife wants to know what spurred your decision on puttin ducks in your garden to begin with and what kind of water feature do you have? and what kind of ducks are yours. thanks again.
@McGieHomesteadAdventures

We have a pond pretty close to the garden so that’s perfect and it just kind of happened without planning! Chickens didn’t work out very well but the ducks were great! They are mallards and look like the wild version but are from tame stock.

Yes I do…… and that’s the problem with that breed…… they want to do their job so much….. but don’t realize that they can’t patrol the entire earth! Unfortunately for mine and fortunately for my ducks and chickens, I have no problem keeping him exactly where he’s needed. He doesn’t even seem to mind! My other dog minds the property lines so we’ve got a decent line of defense!
