You are doing great!! My sons graduated from our eclectic homeschool in 16,18 and 19. They all graduated from college 20, 22,23 with no debt and scholarships!!!!! Eldest earned his MBA in 22 for free with grad assistance job!!! They are all working in their fields and we are expecting first grandchild in December!!! I am praying for them to homeschool as well!!! I still keep my ears open in the homeschool community to know what’s being discovered and available! Thank you for what you are doing!!!!

My 17 year old is spending more time working than on schoolwork at this point. He’s working with grown men who have been great influences on him. He works 7-9 hours a day, and then comes home and tries to get in a couple of hours of school. This is leading him more towards his future than taking even more random classes in his school classes.

So glad I found you🎉I am homeschooling a senior this year & he's working. As a mom I sometimes question if I'm always giving him the best opportunity & options. A lot of people are against working & high school at the same time but it builds skills and in my opinion integrity. So happy to find another mom seeing great value in work ethic at a young age 😊 !❤! PREPARING THEM 4 LIFE!

I have followed your channel for a while now and I am so VERY thankful for you and all that you share. You have made me feel less stressed about homeschooling. This is my 6th year teaching my youngest son and my oldest just turned 18 years old 2 days ago and decided he no longer wants to finish school and wants to work fulltime. It's hard for me to let go and let him grow into his adult self.......... Lord help us moms lol

My daughter has been working since 14 as well. (At least for someone else. She has been in the field surveying with my husband as well here and there) She started at 14 working at a horse farm working horses and cleaning/feeding. Now she works at a gymnastic facility teaching rec classes. She is dual enrolling as well. All her decision. She is a hard worker and loves it. I was the same when I was her age!

Love to hear your thoughts on all this. We are homeschooling 4th, 2nd and 1st grade boys and my little girl is doing simple pre-k for special time with mama. You’re my favorite homeschool channel! Today was our first day back and it was so sweet! I was intimidated because things get more intensive as they get older, but I met with the Lord, and he gave me joy and excitement and it translated to my children. Glory to him! You’re a source of wisdom and help in my homeschool journey. I’m a second generation homeschooler, homeschooling 3 boys is very different from my mama’s homeschool :) so thanks for lending your experience and encouragement. Love in Christ!

I love this! I really wish I could relax into unit studies more. I especially love that PNW study. We just got home from a 15 day vacation/ road trip visiting family in Oregon, Washington, Montana (our favorite), and Utah. We live in CA and have been praying for opportunity to move, but every door we open God has closed. So we are working on finding our vacation / retirement investment property in MT. We want to be closer to my dad, and my kids learn SO much from him during our visits. So we are praying for some property to get us more time with him while we can learn from him. Thanks for sharing.

What great selections!! We are also doing Holocaust & National Parks units this year. My oldest is going into 9th grade and you are so right, it’s a struggle trying to balance family style learning as they get older. My other children are 4th, 1st & PreK and my upcoming high schooler doesn’t always want to go at the slower pace the younger kiddos need. Can I say- you are a breath of fresh air and the only HS mama I follow/watch anymore. And I can’t thank you enough for being real and authentic ❤️ The comment about my kids don’t always love it - they just want to get it done and over with and move on to other things- that comment is so freeing to me! I quit following everyone and honestly talking to any other HS mamas I know about HS because every one of their kids love school and live and breath all the HS material - and mine just do not. They are more hands on , life skills type children- not so crazy about the book work stuff- so I always find it so hard to relate to other HS mamas/channels. Even my HS day/curriculum doesn’t quite look like yours - and as you say- that’s ok- we’re all different- but I love that you’re real and share with us because I gleam so much from your videos. Btw- every video it seems a little more done to your house. So excited for you guys!!!! Many blessings to you and your family. 🙏🏼❤️

Hi, its really cool that you do the Holocoust unit. As a German and with our history I remember very well when we did this topic. Here its taugh in 9th grade and it was together with WW2 a whole year subject. At the end of the year, we went to one of the concentration camp( Bergen-Belsen) and to a few more places the following grade when we visited Berlin for a week. It was sad visiting those places at the time.

Agreed and should be looked into more. IMO…Our state community college, which is also half price if dual enrolled, doesn’t have ANY requirements either. They don’t care. Also, the state university’s will automatically accept once they’ve received the associates degree from community college in order to work towards the bachelors. Again, they dont care about the transcript either. They assume you got the associates and you’re good to go with them.

@maryl8132 I believe it was an assembly woman that went to bat in Albany a month or so ago, trying to get the wording changed from the superintendent may issue to must issue. But in doing so, our lovely government decided we need to look more into it first and possibly require homeschoolers to complete the regents exams in order to receive the letter. Big hugs to you NY homeschooling mama’s!!! We moved from NY to NC a little over a year ago now, & even though it hasn’t all been easy, the homeschooling regulations/community/opportunities here alone have been a complete BLESSING to our family! Makes me so sad to hear that NY is making it even harder to homeschool- it doesn’t surprise me, but I’m sad to hear it!

Thank you for sharing. As far as your 6th grader moving on to Prealgebra I would say look forward to where you want him to land in highschool. Does he love math? Does he want to be doing calculus and all the other higher level maths. Sure he could do it right now but is that best for future planning? That’s what I ask myself all the time when considering pushing my kids up a level or 2.

I’ve been trying to decide the same thing with TT. I’m thinking one more year of TT and 7th grade I’ll move my daughter to Denison pre algebra. My youngest daughter isn’t great at math, so I think pre algebra would be a bit much at this point. I’ve also considered trying Saxon but I’m not sold on that.

Hey Jamie! Just wanting your opinion about something because I know that you’ve tried a lot of curriculum. My grandson is currently in 2nd grade and really doesn’t like language arts. He hates all the writing. We’ve used Abeka in 1st grade and he’s currently using BJU in 2nd grade. It’s the only subject that he really dislikes. Is there a LA curriculum that your boys really liked and you feel is thorough? Please share.

Hey friend! To be completely honest...there's hasn't really been a LA curriculum that my boys have loved. I truly think you either love it...writing, all the things....or you don't.ine don't! And ok totally ok with that! Masterbooks is a gentle approach if your looking for something like that?
