On a TT the crossed chains catch your trailer hitch so it doesn't drag the ground. Not needed on a 5th Wheel.

I believe the Reese’s instructions suggest using the lock when parked. I never lock/pin mine in travel. Too difficult to reach and not needed. I don’t cross chains either.

Congrats on the new rig JD. I for one would be a fan of the electric leveling jacks, not so much for the hydraulic ones. I hope you and your family have many years of fun in that beast of a RV. Also like the fact that it has Rack and Pinion slides all around.

I've been seeing were many folks are removing roof mount HVAC systems making more room for solar panels. In turn they're going with a energy sipper heat pump mini split systems usually used in residential applications. Units such as Mr. cool etc. with invertors maybe. Retrofit to back of RV with outside spilt mounted to bumper. They're much quieter and efficient and cool better, so they claim. They also can be used with a solar system where those roof mount things just use to much electricity.

If it doesn't have it, I'd put led lighting underneath if even on the door side to provide a nice ambience, a trailer I want but can't afford by grandesign (toyhauler) has this and it's something I'd totally like add to whatever we purchase .

HEY JD congrats just 3 things I noticed when you drove away check and make sure your pick up bed will not hit under 5th wheel or drag off your bumper should you get in a deep dip or rise have seen that happen before. Or get high centered by the drop frame I’m sure your aware of all that better safe then sorry look forward to you getting back to your informative videos. Enjoy the ride

Be nice to see a 3rd axle even if it’s not needed to hold the Weight a third axle for the Length It would definitely help under Highwinds be more stable also helps keep the back bumper from dragging as much pulling in and out of the gas station stuff like that but Besides that very nice trailer

We named our 2017 Dodge RAM dually Ruby Sue and our 2020 Coachman Brookstone 310 RLS is Lulu. She's a big girl but at 36' she's way shorter then yours. Good luck with naming her, I don't have any ideas for ya. To me, naming your rig is such a personal thing and it took us a while to settle on the right one.

Congrats on the new coach !!! May she bring you many miles of smiles!! One question tho. Why the manual adjust landing legs instead of hydraulic? Our 1st coach had them and it was challenging at times trying to figure out exactly which side needed more blocking/adjusting and them to have each side hit at same time. With the 6pt, all that is tossed out the window when it works right. Love your reporting on everything. Keep up the great job !!

On a long rig like this would be nice if the middle marker light was wired to the turn signal. People next to you have no idea you want to turn as the truck tail lights are obstructed by the RV.

Jayco has their lights wired were if you put your turn signal on their are side lights that flash also to indicate your turning to give a better indication I wish other manufacturers did this too.

Soooo happy for you, Mrs., and family! Please ask Mrs. to do a series of how she packs this RV and what products she prefers. Does she measure space prior to placing and/or place based on use? Also, are there special tools she packs that are multi-purpose? Please continue to cover what items you add to this 5th wheel and the reasoning as to why you choose said product. on a unit that like I'm very surprised the front legs are 1/2 auto leveling instead of fully hydraulic. There still is a chance for your rig to not be level after you hit auto level with you manually extending the front jacks.

It's fully autoleveling. Just the Electric system.

@@BigTruckBigRV You still have to put out the adjustable jacks with the pull pin though. So technically its not "fully" auto-leveling. Not being a pain in the butt but I wish we could move away from the pull pin front jack system on all higher end units. Worked at a trailer repair shop in NY and had to warn and explain this to customers. You're always sorta guessing how much slack to pull out from the manual pull pins before you lift off the truck HOPEING you pulled out enough to auto level. And 1:41 you can see the pull pins I'm talking about. Otherwise I'm blown away with how this unit turned out. Looking forward to hearing more updates from you and the family (what the wife likes, and the kids).

Keep the videos around 10 minutes, 15 max for really interesting stuff. I watch a great deal of KZbin from cycling to RV's to finance. Anything more and I find myself fast forwarding (is fast forwarding still a thing in the digital age??).
