Hi Adam, you mentioned in one of your vid's that you were going to install a new head unit in the new Cruiser, we've been waiting to see which one you go for as we need to replace ours before we head off in May. We have been considering the VHEDIA unit with OBD2 scan tool included but not sure if it will be suitable. After something that won't break the bank.
@SmartTouringSystems9 ай бұрын
Just finished the interior yesterday. However I didn't replace the head unit. only speakers and amp. I would have loved the Alpine 9 inch but at $3000 it was not in the budget. I'll check out the one you mentioned and in the meantime shoot over STS GARAGE our other channel as there is a full series on the 79 build. Which will include the interior fit out.

Gotta love the tail lights are still incandescent bulbs…😂 Adam try ATD bullbars pretty sure they are offering a bar. Anyone that travels regional Australia is silly not to have some frontal protection IME. It’s the difference between driving into the next town or getting a tow truck because all your coolant (or most 4x4 vehicles have a front mounted intercooler which is more of a problem). It’s the early mornings, evenings & nighttime driving that’s the problem & most caravaners get away with not hitting anything as they aren’t often driving those times. I’ve cleaned up more than 100 animals but that’s a lifetime of driving & living in the bush and couldn’t have a vehicle without a bar. The 2.8 & auto is for the fleet buyers, the NGO I work for is excited that they can move away from manuals for all the kiddies coming through that don’t know what a clutch is for, & having one engine type to maintain across the fleet (we use a great many hiluxes) is a no brainer

Nothing like the V8 offroad, and it'll last longer than the 4cylinder.
@australia-ukraine10 ай бұрын
V8 engines are more powerful, reliable, and will last forever. Don't listen to marketing BS about "cool" 4 cylinder fake. There is a huge scandal at Toyota regarding false information provided about their new 4-cylinder engine. What another "Ronnie expert" says about the Holly 4-cylinder LC 70 means nothing but money in his account.
@abuhamad27198 ай бұрын
You have to follow the experiments on KZbin... 4 cylinder outperforms a lot . But it is a personal preference do you like automatic or manual gearbox
@australia-ukraine8 ай бұрын
@@abuhamad2719 Mate, I don't know who you are or your background. My decisions are based on my engineering degree, skills, experience, and personal tests on both engines. Social media is the last place I would trust. If you prefer fairy tales from another Ronnie or other 'super' experts who live off sponsor money, that explains a lot. To put it in a nutshell, there are physics laws that can't be ignored. If you have a 4-cylinder engine straight from the factory tuned to about 70-80% and a V8 with zero tuning, what would you expect? Invest money in the V8 and get 300+ hp and 900+ nm of torque. These engines use exactly the same technologies and are at the same level of development in terms of ICE (internal combustion engine) engineering science. There are no rabbits in the hat. If you prefer the LGBT version of the legend, that's your preference, but don't try to persuade me to do the same. I prefer manual because I enjoy full control of the vehicle; moreover, it's more reliable and repairable. It allows you to do a push start and many more things that an automatic gearbox physically cannot do. I could never be on the same page as those who intend to replace science with a cheap show. I've spent years of hard studying and practice to gain some humble understanding of ICE. But then, one day, another Ronnie declares that the Earth is flat... no comments. That's how religions start.

How can V8 be less powerful if it has more power? Torque measured at different RPMs for a subset of 4-cylinder lovers is not evidence.
