Welcome to our road trip across North Wales. This road trip spans through Llangollen and its surrounding aqueduct and castle. and then onto Snowdonia National Park to Swallow Falls and Beddgelert, giving you 5 amazing things to do in North Wales.

Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is a world heritage site that is UK's longest aqueduct and the world's highest canal! Llangollen is a picture-perfect village located in North Wales, very close to the aqueduct and overlooking this town is none other then Dinas Bran Castle. a very short but steep hill climb to get to this castle is totally worth it to get the amazing view at the top and learn about this history of these interesting ruins. Swallow falls is a gorgeous waterfall located in Snowdonia. really nice for a quick stop to admire the views and have a short rest from driving. and finally the gorgeous village of Beddgelert, which is located in the middle of Snowdonia and is one of my favourite villages that is completely surrounded by the mountains of Snowdonia.

You visited Eryri to climb mountains. Wales’ highest mountain is Yr Wyddfa. Also, to aid pronunciation: the Ll is an aeration. Put your tongue to the back of your front teeth then expel air from the sides of the mouth. The Dd (as in Beddgelert) is the same as the buzzy ‘th’ at the start of the English word ‘there’. Bedd is our word for grave. Beddgelert = Gelert’s Grave.

The aqueduct was a highlight for me, that and the nearby town of Llangollen and Dinas Bran Castle are definitely worth a visit on a day trip!
