A tip if you get the auger really stuck - replace the shear bolt if you broke it - then with pto in neutral apply relatively gentle up pressure with the 3pl arms - then get a large screw driver etc and with the pto cover removed use the screwdriver through the uni joint etc to wind the pto shaft in reverse. I avoid having to do this by idling the engine and going down relatively slowly this way the auger is quickly raised a little as soon as you hear the motor load up or the auger starts to bounce.

Hi have you got any tips or tricks to getting the auger off and on because at the moment it's a prick of a thing to do

I normally bury mine in the ground a bit before removing it so it stays upright, It’s still a little tricky to put back on yourself but not as bad 👍

Good video mate. We’re in the process of buying some ground and looking at tractors. The UHI is on of the cheaper on our hit-list, you’ve shared some very handy info, which is making this tractor look good. Thanks.

Thanks mate, I have no complaints apart from the few minor things in my video. Just completed the 20hr major service which was a decent job and will be putting up a video on that soon.

Great video. What gear oil did you use for the auger?
@GoingOffGridAus3 ай бұрын
@@matthewmcpherson4429 just regular old 80-90 gear oil 👍

@@GoingOffGridAus is that the same for all the various attachments? Just got my 65hp delivered and I'm a novice tractor user and manuals aren't really helpful. However your videos are super helpful.

I have the same Tractor and Auger and had the same issue with having to work out how to coordinate the extension cylinder and the 3point linkage for raising and lowering. Just about every other Auger on the market doesn't have a 2nd cylinder in its design ( The geometry of the pivots and cylinder mounts causes a lock out if you dont use both hydraulic levers, no idea why its designed this way ??) so I removed mine and gave it a go. It worked with no problems just using the 3point linkage for raising and lowering. Made the process much simpler... Art

Yep I agree it is tricky to work out, I thought about removing the downforce hydraulic as well but with how hard our rocky soil is I reckon we need every bit of downforce we have available!

Hey Andrew, channel looks great. It's good to be able to see what you and Jenn get up to. I found that when the hole is deep enough on the last clean out. Throw a bucket of water down. It should clean out nice. Good luck with it👍 David Pollington

Thanks for the tip mate, will definitely try that out. Although I am slowly getting better at clearing the hole with practice

That Jump Fail was simply your body telling your brain that you're not 20yo anymore, my body has been warning me for quite sometime too mate 😅😐

Try a peppermint tree. They grow in sand at Busselton but they have about 100mm more rain there.

I am looking at same tractor brand but thinking about 65hp with cab for comfort. Is the extra money worth it for the cab. Interested in your opinion ty
@GoingOffGridAus Жыл бұрын
Depends on your climate, Personally I would have gone with a 65 with the cab but they were on back order for a few months and I needed a tractor asap. I think you get a lot more tractor for the extra 5k going up to the 65hp with the cab etc.
