We get all nostalgic on a trip to our old home town, Letchworth, home of the world's first roundabout and the rare black squirrel.
A nice meal at The Fox in Willian and a walk around Willian Arboretum.

Thank you for a brilliant flashback to my past. I lived on the outskirts of Hitchin in the late 70's - our house looked out over the rose nurseries and with a dog who loved running away many hours were spent shouting his name over the fields of roses as he enjoyed his favourite pastime. Letchworth was always the preferred place for an evening out and I lose count of the number of evenings spent at the cinema. I lost my Mum 8 years ago and seeing the roads around Letchworth bought back so many memories of happy times - thanks again.

Wow excellent vlog, we visited Letchworth while staying at Ashridge Farm site a couple of weeks ago during the lovely warm weather we had in September. We loved the town & gardens & took a selfie in front of the water fountain just like you. Thank you Bob, Jenny & Poppy for bringing back so many happy memories of our caravan holiday. We will definitely be going back.💗😀xxx

Thoroughly enjoyed your trip down memory lane Bob and Eileen. Any road trip through England is a real treat for us and saves us the plane flight back :) Being born and bred in Brum, we finally travelled around to Wales, as newly weds, but it was only after 20 years over in Canada that we discovered the 'North', at least as far as Yorkshire. Flying into Manchester and across to Skegness and the touring around from there down to Cornwall and around back to visit relatives in Brum was a dream come true. I remember bursting into tears, as we rounded the corner of 'our road', to take our Canadian born children to visit the house I grew up in. So thanks for taking us along with you on your journey. We too loved checking out the towns churches and museums. Surprised that Letchworth still has an operating Cinema. Those windows are beautiful. Our 2 local cinemas were torn down years ago I have found out but they will always be a part of our dating memories! BTW I have grey and black squirrels visiting us daily. One black one buried a peanut in our grass, yesterday and then spotting several Mallards on our pond, ran up the nearby conifer and put up his tail and chatted out an aggressive challenge to leave his nut alone :)

Really enjoyed that! Haven't been back since 2013 and haven't really lived there since 1998. Many memories flooded back from the town centre. Used to frequent the other pub in Willian and also used to cut across from the Jackmans - we used a different route across the Lordship estate and through the woods. Tour of the Jackmans estae next time please!

I was a Wewyn Garden City boy but went to Letchworth catering college for 4 years 1975-9 and the Broadway hotel was the only bar and they weren't keen on having long haired louts from the college in, so most lunch times were spent above Burton's in the snooker club, 1p a minute for the lights, if my memory is correct or in the fondly remembered Koffee Kup cafe!

Thank you very much for a lovely informative video. Once again lovely scenery and great narrative to go with it. It was interesting listening to your memories. You mention your business. What was your career if you don't mind me asking? I don't live very far away from Letchworth and have never seen it as a place to walk around and enjoy. I've only ever just driven through it on my way to somewhere else. One thing I didn't know about was the walkway all around the town which I think is a lovely idea and a place I could go to walk my dogs. You have both opened my eyes to what a great place it is. Thank you again.

As you came into letchworth and went past the esso garage where you said you filled up multiple times I thought you were lucky (card cloning) then you said you had your card cloned! that garage is renowned for cards being cloned.
