I had a very simple wedding just one day shading ruksti nikkah everything... I told my parents I wanted a very small wedding... my dress was also on the cheaper side and I would have rented if I could... but I remember everyone including my parents wanting a more fancy lavish wedding but I really am not that person... I would have kept it even smaller if I could but my parents wanted to keep it a certain way because of society. Anyway keeping a small wedding is the best decision to make I have friends who spent so much money went into debt and a year or two later divorced and regretted it so much...

As an adult now , I've started to realise why our women are so miserable. These women were promised a good future in the expense of their freedom. These women were told lies that their future husbands would provide for them. But reality turns out to be different. The men actually never had financial security. His parents gave him a house since he's a "Waaris" and his wife brought the dowry with her. The men are usually pathetic and mama boys and then the woman gets crushed between. Putting her through pregnancy every three years. When a man can't handle his marriage from the beginning, if he can't take it in his hand at the time when Rishta came, then the family is destined to fall. This is why I hope that when I'll be ready to get married, I'd rather he take the initiative and talk it out between us. No adults involved.
