Thanks Joseph! It was interesting to see the pigeons and the dovecot you built for them. I think fall would be my favorite season in Portugal also. The soup looked great. Too warm here for soup but I will keep in mind for cooler temps. Nothing like homemade soup. I was thinking that maybe Mariana had the baby when I didn't see you last week. Good to see you and your new project! Very nice and simple it is for the pigeons. Years ago I got 4 of them and I guess I never let them get accustomed to their surroundings enough but they came back a couple of times but they must of found a better place. They are such gentle birds.... Soup looked great as we head into fall and winter we enjoy hearty soups and stews as well. Your cabbage, savoy I grew this year for the first time this summer and it has done well. It sure is a beautiful plant! Glad you're feeling better! Here in the states it's crazy times. Something I've been using is a strong tincture of wild oregano, 2 to 3 drops in a teaspoon of olive oil and swallow quickly as it has a very strong bitter/burning effect. But I tell you what...any cold symptom goes completely away! Great stuff! Anyway been thinking about you and your wife and new baby soon! Enjoy!

My mother grew up on the family farm. She would tell us how she hated the chickens and the geese. The geese were always mean. It was her job to clean the chicken and goose poop off of the sidewalks. She once said her mother, my grandmother, would make Pigeon pie. They didn't keep pigeons. But, my grandfather would hunt them. She hated finding bird shot in the meat. So, my grandmother made it her job to clean the pigeons and other wild birds my grandfather shot. She always said she was so happy to leave the farm and as she aged she yearned to go back. Unfortunately, my grandmother sold the farm when it became too much for her to run.

We didnt want to surprise you with a quick visit because you have probably lots of things to do and Mariana needs to rest before giving birth! We went to Ourondo and looked at the property and liked what we saw..... The price of the property is a bit expensive due to the costs to make it habitable such as connecting water again,connecting sewer and electricity, register the property, maybe drilling a borehole and other stuff for making it habitable. I think the process will begin with negotiations after we are gonna get some more photos of locked rooms because keys to certain rooms and garages were in France with the owner. soo.....We would be happy to have some contact informations to a good lawyer from you! sincerely Magnus and Kristina

Hello Peter! They are still on the drawing board unfortunately, we had a run in with a breeder here, he was really rude to Mariana and we decided not to use him. Now I am waiting to find a different breeder - Got my fingers crossed as everyone up to now has not got the right heritage breeds for us
