I blew out my shoulder and bicep I was shooting 55 lbs now I can barely shoot 40 lbs I love long bows but my old set up is way too heavy it was 700 grains total at 27-1/2 inch draw what set up would you recommend at 45 lbs I’m trying to work up to it I don’t want to give it up and I hate crossbows pretty much despise them any advice on a good arrow build in carbon

Hey Rob: “I would recommend you start with Victory RIP XV / 3DHV in the 500 spine(same arrow, one hunting name the later target shaft name. At 5 gpi it is the lightest gpi shaft you can get - thus allowing you to put the weight up front. They come with 60 inserts - add 200 grain leading point and you should get between 145 and 160 fps. An arrow with this setup should render around 430 grains at 28”. More importantly, your arrow will have great punch at around 29% FOC.
