I'm going to the MPS (Mittelalterlich Phantasie Spectaculum / Medieval Fantasy Spectaculum) in Speyer in August (for my birthday). It's not a LARP, but something similar, but it's mainly about medieval music bands associated with it. And yes, I will also "dress up" a bit, as something like a "Viking / Norseman / Germanic".

There is a large and great open medieval event called "spectaculum" it travels from city to city through germany, with fixed tour dates. Its a medieval market for visitors. Also you can be a part of this and there are a lot of shows and events like archery, axe throwing, knight fights and so on.

Yeah, I'm there in August in Speyer MPS! First and foremost because of the bands that will be playing! (Saltatio Mortis, Faun, a.o.)

its more like a medival market but at nighttime the shows get pretty cool , Saltatio Mortis is realy everything you can expect from "real" musicians

Das Event ist bei mir direkt um die Ecke wäre ich noch ein paar Jahrzehnte Jünger würde mich das sogar interessieren da mal mitzumachen. The event is just around the corner from me and if I were a few decades younger I'd even be interested in taking part.

Wow 160 ha means 1,600,000 square metre (17.222.256,666836 ft²) But that's not all. This is more of a classic larp event. But there are also other events here in Germany. There's also a kind of Harry Potter larp with school lessons and spells, or the western larps, and that goes as far as cyberpunk or apocalyptic scenery in abandoned industrial halls, in which epidemics are re-enacted, in which people are divided into classes and so on.
