Goes with Q1 in Bahrain, (P2 just behind Max) FP1 in China, (fastest overall) & his home race in Montreal where he drove flawlessly in the rain. Shame he balances it out with “brain fade” moments though.

Sadly those moments are not enough to say he's not bad. He's shit most of the time. Shining on a few occasions while beeing consistantly shit doesn't mean that "he's not that bad". he is. And they should give the seat someone else.

I think it depends how easy the car is to drive, McLaren in 2007 was an incredible car and easy to drive so it worked for Hamilton, but if it wasn't it could have ruined his career

Lando did not have this good car when he started. But he's still one giant step ahead, if you look at a scope of at least a few races. Oscar makes those silly mistakes here and there. Oscar shows a lot of promise, but the results drag behind currently.

His seat is under threat by Ricciardo. So he may have put in for a change. Some have said there's probably 3 tenths between them. So Max in the fastest car would still have been slower than Lando in the 2nd fastest car.

He even outsales Max in merchandise so they will not give him up fast. And McLarens long runs were not good today so yeah maybe pole but a race win? We will see

Ironically, at about 150 miles (if that) further east than Silverstone, I've been desperate for some rain. It's so darned hot and humid! It's nearly midnight and it's finally come! We've hardly had any rain in many weeks! I loved what James Vowles was said to have told his rookie. (Paraphrasing, naturally.) "Don't worry, go out and take it easy to start with. Have fun, you only ever get the one 'first time in an F1 session.' You are _not_ being evaluated!" Sounds just what I imagine he would say, and it seemed to work!

For those who didn't see, Norris said after practice that Mercedes were sandbagging and likely are just as fast as McLaren. That means for certain than Verstappen was also sandbagging. Don't be surprised if it's close at the top tomorrow, but Perez is still like 5 tenths off.

Bearman has won a race and had a pole position in the same Prema that apparently makes it 'impossible' for Antonelli to show how good he is. If he was good enough, he'd show it. He's very clearly not ready and needs another year at least in F2, but Toto will rush him into the Mercedes car anyway because he's obsessed with Max.
