You know what? It’s one thing to joke about it every now and then but to constantly run down Verstappen and to actively fight against him is starting to wear on me. I appreciate the fact that Verstappen is making history and to actively cheer against him and to yell ‘noooo!’ When Max does something good like (oh no!) ‘winninng’ as if winning isn’t the GOAL…honestly, your act is starting to get old. Max has already won races from 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th, 9th, 10th, and 14th. On Sunday, he could add 6th to that list as well. He just needs to win from 5th and 8th after that to have won from every position in the top 10.

People, myself included, seem to forget that Max did exactly 0 laps in FP1. That dude just came straight into qualifying without any practice runs and puts the car on pole, 0.820 s clear of the rest, and even 0.877 s clear of his teammate, who even had a better track to set his time.

Charles will only start on pole, but he isn't the official pole winner. Max was handed the pole award for Spa, did all the official pole interviews, etc. His gearbox deduction doesn't change his official standing as the actual pole winner.

12:30 Ferrari and Redbull just were not pushing to the limit in Q2, and 30 seconds makes a crazy difference on such a rapidly drying track. Piastri got a great laptime and beat his teammate by 4 tenths. That's a stunning Quali performance from a rookie, topping Q2 and beating his teammate in Q3.

If we ignore Max Verstappen in Q3 doing Max Verstappen things, it was a brilliant qualifying. We were so, so close to actually seeing some overtakes on Sunday with Max potentially starting P16. Instead, Max will probably be P1 by the end of the Kemmel straight

I am literally in Pergatory. I am in my 50's. Discovered F1 in '21. Became a Max fan from the hit (gaining a vague understanding of the Merc dominance along the way). That alone highlights the problem with Formula 1. The gaps are so big that it leads to races where almost nothing happens. I think the mclarens are running more rear wing than most of the other cars quick sector 2 but s1 and s3 with the long straights they just arent slippery enough.
