They don't talk with their team, during a stage. That would be illegal. There are actually two persons in the car. A driver, and a co-driver. The co-driver reads pace notes. Hes essentially describing the road ahead, what way the next turn goes, and distance. He also has some sort of command, on how fast to take turn.

That Isegami tunnel stage is awesome. In 2022 season the rest of the stage was tarmac, but the tunnel itself was gravel. Plus there is a WRC event here in my home country of Croatia. (first one was in 2021, and it is still going strong). This season's event is in April. And there was a fatality last year just before the rally started. Hyundai's driver Craig Breen (Ireland) was killed in a crash while in a practice session. The organizers offered to cancel the competition, but the team and Craig's family asked them not to and it was held in his honor (with Hyundai's cars having the livery in colors of the Irish flag). The radio comunication is mostly between the driver and the codriver. Co-driver reads pacenotes for the stage (that notebook) and the driver wouldn't hear him normally (the cabin isn't soundproofed) so they need radio headsets (inside the helmets). It sometimes breaks down and all hell breaks loose.

No team talking to them, the guys you hear talk are the codrivers reading the pace notes to their drivers. These pace notes have a full description of the stage, taken previosuly on "recce". Don't mistake this with practice tho. They never get to practice the stage or demo run it.

but sometimes they get practice sessions on segments of stages. Last year Craig Breen was killed during a practice session for Rally Croatia!

@@FlankerB3 no, they don't. Craig Breen was killed in pre event tests. These test are run in stages designed to match the closest conditions they will face on the event, but are not event stages. Truth is, they do run one of the stages in a shortened layout before the official start of the rally. This however is optional, and crews take this as an extra oportunity to get the final tweeks and set up changes done so cars are best suited for the coming stages. The practice they could get is insignificant, as the selected section are often no longer than 2km or even less. It's also a limited thing, as they have a set time to get as much runnings as they want, but even then they can only get 2 or 3 attempts at best as all participants can take part in it. The purpose of this short section is to serve as a qualifying stage to decide the running order (within their different classes)

​ @mikkohapponen5728 Isle of Man TT might be more dangerorus to the rider (due to nature of vehicle) but nowhere in comparision to Rally driver difficulty. 3:37 I already wrote it to you for another video. that voice is the navigator, not the team. The team does not communicate with them at all during the ride. I know you probably know this by now from other comments under other of your videos, but I'd rather write it again anyway. :)

Rally takes 3 days or technically 4, as 1st short stage is driven on thursday. Real rally starts on friday and usually saturday is longest where positions are pretty much made. Sunday is shorter but it has special stage (last one) with a lot of points. This season they completely changed the point system. So EP as eesuppi or his real name Esa-Pekka Lappi won swedish rally but scored less points than other driver. Weird isn't it...

fun fact about wrc, people outside of usa just love to have tiny monsters with 500+ hp on roads. :D And american muscles cant even compete to R versions of Golf, Leon, Audi S anything, etc. :D
